Extraneous background information: This comic takes place about 3 years after the courtesan. Song is 25 and still performing with Etty, Mansa is 30 and has graduated from school. Since graduating a year ago he has been given a position as a judge as well as a townhouse that the two of them share. He is currently working on something rather monumental that we will just see a glimpse of in this comic. This is a fairly fluffy story, it is not as content heavy as the courtesan at all but there is a lot of character growth!
Before we go any further I have a few disclaimers about this comic. One: Song makes a bad choice in the interest of self preservation but he will make it right. Two: these friends are some pretty bad people he met while running hexes, not people he sees often, and certainly not since he became Mansa’s courtesan. And three: there is a fair amount of bullying and slut shaming in these first few pages. It’s all important to the story, but you should always have a warning for the content you consume!
