Love you gremlins so so much, and there is an especially close place in my heart for those of you who have been following Mansa and Song. Originals aren’t popular, I know that. I took a huge risk even introducing them but you’re making it so worth it! You’re all just wonderful 💕

Also, b) is Gerald duplicating here (like the astral projecting sort of duplicating) or is that just another audience member behind him? The coloring is almost like a transparent version of himself? I love these boys so deeply and the people and story and world you’ve created really resonates with me on a deep and personal level. I think that this isn’t just entertainment for us, it’s about a real connection. I put up with Gerald only because he’s part of this universe and I want to hang with Song and Mansa and he happens to be there. Does anyone else hear Gerald with a posh British accent, like Hiddleston-esque?

Neil & Terry will always have that primary claim... Song & Mansa, however, are YOURS... even if you welcome other artists to draw them, write about them, etc. they are a Whiteley Foster original... And, I believe, true ‘patronage’ of an artist is to support all of their creations... ESPECIALLY the original work. I imagine what you can do with these characters... what you might be able to create with them in the future, and I feel SO EXCITED for you... and genuinely lucky that I get to see it all first. No one is forced to follow an artist on social media or Patreon, if they don’t like what’s posted they can leave instead of being bitchy.

All creators put some of their heart and soul into their art and writing and characters, even when playing with pieces from another creator’s work- how can you not, when you’re putting your own spin on them? But when they’re characters of your own, especially ones that have been living in your head for as long as Song and Mansa and the rest have? They’re your heart and soul given their own little life and set out into the world. Trusting a group of gremlins (😉) with them is incredibly brave because who KNOWS what the reception is going to be- and doing it in a space like this is so intimate and personal, you’re getting real-time reactions in your face, unlike when someone releases a book or movie or show out into the world and the reactions are a bit more removed. It’s 6:30 in the morning for me so I’m just half-awake rambling at this point, but my point is that I’m incredibly thankful you first decided to share this piece of your heart with us and continue to do so every single day, because I adore this story and these beautiful, precious characters. Okay, now I need to go smack Gerald with a pillow for a bit because GODDAMNIT GERRY STOP IT 😤😤😤😤
