The fact that Song wishes things could be different doesn’t diminish his love for Mansa at all. Society is cruel and unfair and I hate they they have to experience this part of reality when they just deserve to be happy.

2021-07-25 12:53:08 +0000 UTCdamn it, council, couldn't possibly be more on the nose that "society" does not approve, stupid bastard 😤 and yeah, it's like irl when people who never experienced not being accepted or like any type of casual every day routine oppression it's hard to explain how tiring and discouraging the whole system is not only bc of global things like not being allowed to marry or have right gender on your id or anything else, but also in those stares, glares, whispers, passive aggressive gestures, constantly reminding that you are not welcome, to the point when you begin feeling like you really aren't and it takes all the strength to just exist, strength you might have channelled somewhere more useful, oh gosh, I'm so angry and I want to comfort both Song and Mansa so bad rn, and scream at the top of my lungs that no, Song, you are not a coward, the society is broken, not you and Mansa 😔❤️❤️❤️ the way Mansa's hand cradles Song's face here, Song's sad ears are bringing me to the verge of tears 🥺❤️ and I'm so glad the vase wasn't lost here! it's so very gorgeous 😍❤️

Intentionally sending suitors when Song is there (to get this exact reaction and drive them apart) or it doesn't even occur to them they're hurting Song (or Mansa) because they think so little of infernals.
