Also why he fell for Song, he literally would not have noticed Song if he wasn’t as aggressively attention seeking 😂

2021-11-16 14:48:35 +0000 UTC1- they’d take the last name of whoever has a higher status typically so if they marry Song would be Song Osei or he’d decide to keep his own last name because mansa would not have a problem with that 2- Mansa likes the quick classical music of the 1800s which Song enjoys as well as commoners fiddle music. They’re both probably SO happy to dance with each other to the popular fast songs like a waltz though!

2021-11-16 14:01:06 +0000 UTCWhen he was a kid his number one goal was getting to the mainland, after that he started to put together very practical steps of how to go about doing so. He had a crush on the infernal house keepers daughter which was quickly squashed by his family. But he learned that the mainland wasn’t so prejudice. His family is wealthy but very traditional and didn’t want him in a such a place so he knew he couldn’t rely on them to support such a relocation. So he enlisted knowing that if he served just a few years he would be able to study for free in Alma. He didn’t have romanticized dreams about careers like Song did, but he did know if he was going to be able to be who he was then he’d have to do it all on his own. (Elon had a similar childhood, but he was not strong enough to break out.)
