(I only have one holiday seriously established in this world aside from like bonfires and stuff, but both humans and infernals celebrate it) Their winter solstice feast, it’s an ancient holiday so it’s not specific to religion. They typically make some kind of oily meat (and other side dishes) and people exchanged candles or oil (amongst other things) in preparation for the longest night of the year while gathering together to wait out the dark. It’s pretty much a giant festive slumber party on the coldest darkest day of the year! So for a visual we have Song, Mansa, Harmony, Vonya, Kolya, Thomas, and Etty all at Mansa and Song’s town house surrounded by snacks giving each other gifts with every lamp and candle in the house lit!

2021-11-25 12:41:47 +0000 UTC(Cw for manipulation and emotional/mental abuse) And then Elon… He’s got a weird childhood that I won’t get into right now but the brass tacks of it is he was raised in the highest level of a religious cult where his activity was heavily monitored by parents who were much fonder of their oldest child than of Elon - his older sister died before he was born but he was still compared to her. He has always liked infernals and had a lot of communication with the celestial infernals that were his age while growing up. But because the adults in his life monitored him carefully he was only allowed to be around them when he was treating them like he was their superior (ie: some seriously messed up positive reinforcement, which was really the only positive reinforcement he got as a kid). Instead of the desire to be around an infernal turning into a crush it kind of melded with this righteous celestial scholar need to use and control infernals. This desire to control and possess is a real nature AND nurture outcome, but it could have been at least somewhat different had he been removed from the situation at any point during his childhood.

Etty was arranged to be married to an older boy when she was a celestial scholar before her and her father escaped so the idea of romance for her is kind of wrapped up in this very difficult part of her life. She’s dated a little, but it’s not really her thing. Song didn’t have a lot of crushes as a kid because he didn’t see a lot humans. Obviously he painted the town 100 shades of red after he and Elon broke up though!

He’s got a big secret and he can’t risk anybody in his line of work knowing. So he’s had anonymous hook ups with men and women in the past (all human) who don’t care enough about him to say anything or really even notice the scar on his back. Though he’s stopped with all that because now that he’s climbing the social ladder he’s more worried than ever that he’ll be discovered.
