High ranking Celestial Scholars do have pull, but mostly because the high council usually has some kind of relation to them. Elon’s mother is a celestial scholar and his father was on the high council for many years, though he’s not a judge any longer a request from Elon would still go a long way.

2021-10-24 18:42:04 +0000 UTCIf courtesanship is a situation where the patron(?) is supposed to be financially responsible for the courtesan, and Mansa is now a bit of public figure, and Song is publicly his courtesan... it will look extra bad on Mansa when Song is caught running hexes because of the angle where Mansa couldn't support him, won't it? Not just that running hexes is illegal and therefore socially very embarrassing for a judge, he'll also be shown to be insolvent (because he was forced to be). Or is the plan for Mansa to be legally ruined as well as some kind of accessory? (I assume from what we know of the future that this plot is at least partially foiled, but it sure does seem thorough. 😬)

They revere magic but only see the infernals’ ability to cast as the first step, when the leaders take that magic and use it for “good” the. It becomes something worthy of worship. There are a select few infernals who learn magic under a celestial’s watch. They will eventually learn to pass magic onto that human to use, but this is just the elite few. (The celestial infernals are highly regarded but they’re basically just batteries) this is what Song wants to become when he leave mansa! I haven’t shared a lot of world building with these guys, I’m sorry, it’s hard posting a story from the inside out! This will all be laid out really clearly in the opening chapter of the story!
