But I’m glad that Mansa is there to hold Song through it all and show him that he is worth so so much more than he thinks, even if it takes years. Did Song get all the cuddles and kisses he wants this night? I hope he did because he deserves to feel how loved he is.

Scars will always be there but you and people you love can show you that there’s more to each of them. Never forget that the pain can be a part of you but that moving forward from the pain can make the life you have not only more full in what you survived, but in what you know kept you moving.

This feels like the falling-apart one can sometimes have when they're finally accepting they're in a safe place and can finally start dropping their guard and dealing with all the hurt. It also feels like a real moment for Mansa - I know they've been connecting for a bit here, but it reminds me a little of the Coming Out comic from a while back, where Song had the moment of "I want to protect and cherish this man" - it feels like maybe a similar moment for Mansa here?
