My current partner was really weird when we just started hanging out, and I got a bit thrown off by his vibe. Until he said 'I'm really sorry if I make this weird, I just have not done this in 10+ years and I have no idea what I'm doing'. So as a partner of someone that was quite anxious at first I'd say: YES! Just tell them you have no idea what you're doing and then they'll understand and want to help you out. It helped me to understand my partner and I just went 'well, I've done this recently but I still have no idea what I'm doing, sooooo..'

2022-03-03 12:28:26 +0000 UTCI mean, from my own perspective as an ace person I'm tentative about starting relationships because I need to know what a potential partner expects, and whether I can meet those expectations. Also, as others have mentioned, subsequent limited experience makes starting new relationships quite intimidating. So putting myself in Mansa's shoes I can definitely see the gently probing questions and self-preservation.
