Howdy friends,
Hope all of you are keeping well! I'm back once again for a little update on the state of upcoming projects as well as the general goings on in the wild and wonderful life of Sean, and by wild and wonderful it just means I've been traveling a bit, which was very fun.
I got to stay with some friends out in Toronto recently, which was my first time leaving Europe if you can believe it! Turns out Canada is pretty amazing, everybody is incredibly nice, the clubs and bars are fun, the food was unreal (love poutine), and I even got to see a hockey game which is by far the funnest sporting experience I've had, they have a whole old guy who just plays little tunes on a casino keyboard, it's so good. Also, I was at the elimination chamber for John Cena's heel turn which was pretty wild.
Shortly after this I also returned to Ireland for a bit and caught up with friends and family as well going to see Machine Girl play live in a very sweaty club which was great and I highly recommend doing the same if you can. Of course, immediately after returning from Ireland, I caught the flu which took me out of commission for about a week, but now that I'm feeling good and rejuvenated from all this moving around and socialising with people, it's time for some PlayStation shit.
Anyway since the last update, I've managed to get out Japan Only Vol.16 and Club PlayStation Mix No.10 (also available in MP3 form here on Patreon!), which is the horse racing game only mix I've been threatening to drop for years now. Pretty happy with how both turned out, Japan Only Vol.16 was 4 really fun games so it was a pleasure putting together and Mix No.10 allows me to push my love of Jazz fusion on the world, so good times all around!
Sadly this does mark the beginning of the 3 games per wheel episode era returning, but on the bright side, it should mean slightly more frequent videos as a result. This will kick in from Vol.17 of Obscure going forward, but before that, we have one more video to get done and that's the mysterious PS1 DEMO DISC VIDEO. It's mysterious in the sense that I kind of know what I want to do in my head for this video, but I'm more or less making it up as I go along. Luckily this plan has served me well in the past, and the video more or less just writes itself as I capture footage, but the goal of this video will be to look at the appeal of the PS1 Demo Aesthetic, The Music, Demo1, Net Yaroze, some choice games that are synonymous with demo discs (Kula World, Tomba etc.), a brief look at the difference between PAL/NA/JPN demo discs, and I suppose the legacy and influence these demo discs had, especially on the people who were there during the PlayStation generation.
How this will manifest in video form, I'm not quite sure yet, that's the mystery! But on paper, this should be a really fun video to put together, so I'm excited to see how it all turns out.
After that's complete and out there, I'll upload a channel update video to the main channel to explain the changes to channel format going forward, nothing I that haven't already told you, lads, on here, but if I don't explain things for folks it will become a BIG pain later and I don't know if I can deal with a comments section of questions, it's bad times lemme tell ye.
Other than that, the only major news is that the game I did some music for Axyz (aka vaporware Kula World) is releasing on Steam at the end of March, the 27th to be exact so little over a week to go! If you're a Kula World fan I highly recommend checking this bad boy out, and as for the tracks included in the game, I'll likely release them both on Bandcamp/YouTube in the near future so you can check em out that way if you'd prefer!

Anyway, that's it for now, as always thank you so much for your continued support and for watching the videos! I'm coming up to five years of being on YouTube this year, and I'm very lucky to enjoy doing this more and more as time goes on, so thanks as always for being such a cool and laidback fanbase, you're all a major part of why I get a kick out of doing this!
Look after yourselves, until next time!
Much love,
Seán
(Ps. Enjoy the cat pictures, poor Honey has been a little unwell the past few weeks but she's back in great form which we love to see!)
