Sometimes things start spinning and Mansa has a hard time stopping it 🥲

I had the idea that he likes weighted blankets when he’s feeling anxious. But because I assume that weighed blankets aren’t a thing yet he usually piles blankets on top of him. That’s until Song gets him a hexed blanket which is really heavy.

I had a bad migraine today (still in the last throes of it), and I feel this so very much!

That picture looks just like me a week ago, when I was rushed to the ER, and then had to stay there the entire day in all that chaos and noise, sick and in pain, while waiting for them to get the results of various tests and finally decide to send me to a hospital room. I stayed there for so many hours that by the time they finally gave me a bed in a room, I was in the same state as Mansa, hysteric and at the verge of complete meltdown. (Fortunately my hubby arrived shortly after, and just held me tight and shielded me from everything. That helps a lot, for me at least.)

I would love to see more about this!!

I feel as though Mansa would love things like hammocks or swinging chairs, or small tactile fidgets such as the texture ones you mentioned! So like certain fabrics and stones or other textures he can hold onto

You know I’ve had some ideas but what does everyone think Mansa would do?

Whiteley Foster

you've done a great job capturing how sensory overload feels, especially when it's reached the level right before a meltdown is imminent. i'm so glad song knows how to help bring mansa back down during these times 💚💚 stimming helps me a lot when i get overloaded, so that got me wondering (and i may have asked this before, so please forgive me if i forgot): what are some of mansa's favorite/most common (or most helpful) stims? or if he had access to modern stim toys, which ones would he like best? personally, i really like tactile stims where i can rub or touch certain textures that feel grounding to me (usually bumpy ones). and of course, the same question(s) go for song too! that lovely little string bean gives off adhd vibes and so i bet he'd enjoy certain stims too! 😊

How does Song help him?

Little0cean

Damn this is a perfect visual of how it feels 🥺

awww poor overwhelmed mansa (tho is that a new jacket color? 👀 looks green to me)

This gives me an instant panic reaction as you capture being completely overwhelmed by external sensory factors, or internal flashbacks so perfectly! I fear those times more than anything else, but it feels good in a weird way to see that others experience it too. Love and respect to everyone here! 💛

Ohhhhhh. Oh gosh, yeah, I know that one. You've drawn that awful feeling so well I tensed up just looking at it. Which is a compliment though I realize it doesn't sound like one!

Ashfae

It does, but song knows how to help 💕

Whiteley Foster

This is so accurate of when my head gets foggy and sensory overload sets in

Arctic Rose

Oh no poor Mansa 😭 Does that happen when he gets overstimulated? Can Song help him?

Little0cean

Yep… pretty much that =_=
