While he's being a grouch pointing it out, I am assuming he's going to dismiss that standard, if he suggests Mansa propose. Maybe he'll point out whatever advancement Mansa gets will have 'social standards' Song can't meet, so might as well go as far as he can. (And take Thomas with him.)
