Mind you, it’s kind of a shame in a way because I get the impression that Charles really wanted to be a guiding hand and he appreciated Mansa’s work ethic (well, who wouldn’t!) Had Charles been of a progressive mindset instead of, well, how he is, it could have been very different with their working relationship. However, our boi is still so young, I’m sure he’ll meet benevolent people in his future who can help him in his career. Good for Mansa for resigning, does he realise how much his focus and perspective has changed since he met Song?

2022-04-22 21:34:24 +0000 UTCI've enjoyed checking on this in my email all day. (Same with yesterday's, really.) Mr. Frowny Face, you do not get to mess up Mansa's life! Be mad all you won't, it isn't going to stop him. You can tell a lot about someone but how they react when the help they offer is refused. Charles was so certain he started making arrangements (well outside of his position as teacher/mentor/boss) without talking to Mansa at all. It'd still suck, but he didn't offer to look into 'treatment' or finding Masna partners, he just did it. And now Mansa is rejecting not only the 'help' but also the job (and him). Not that Charles is admitting he overstepped or accepting Mansa's decision. He's leaning in, confrontation (not as angry as with Mitch, but those brows are down), more frowning, more tense. Bad reaction. (If you offer help, allow the other person to say no. Not that he offered help. He all but instituted 'help'. Very bad. run away! I am very glad he can't pressure Mansa into obeying.)
