Because Elon set into his head that he is never going to be enough for him (or Mansa) otherwise. And now the fear of Mansa finding out he runs hexes again is added to that.

I just want to look at it's pretty swirls, sparkles and glows though. Do the different colours of magic do something different/ have a different effect? Or is the difference in colour more of a signature kind of thing?

Can you tell us more about the relationship between blessings/religious magic and magic in general? Or is that too much part of the bigger plot, and why Infernal magic so carefully controlled/harnessed by the celestial scholars etc? (basically I'm wondering if the goddesses interfere directly or Nobody Knows)

It’s truly looked down upon, but it’s also a very expensive recreation because all the celestial infernals are closely monitored by celestial scholars so to buy anything from them would be risky. He started becoming addicted to it when he was a teen, but after the fiasco with attacking Song his family basically excommunicated him and he is not allowed to be part of blessings anymore (it’s a bit hush hush though, they’re really all about appearances and Elon is becoming a blemish because of his addiction :/

I was wondering what 'drug' it would be, and pure magic, oooooh. Can you tell us more about the worldbuilding of that? How he got into it, how it's viewed by the society, what sort of addictive/withdrawal qualities it has? (is he still addicted to it years later when Song comes back?) How long has he been on this?

I am guessing it is much stronger and more addictive that way. Also I am guessing that Georgie makes them for him. Unfortunately I do know someone that is a bit of an arsehole that is turned into even more of an arsehole when on drugs. That person is my little brother =_=
