POLL: Adding a show here…

Hey folks, Aaron here.

As many of you already know, I make another weekly podcast called That’s Just Weird, where I cover weird recent news, weird historical “this month in history” tales, and then rap up with one bigger weird story from history. It’s fun, light, and educational, and my team and I also try to keep it really “kid friendly”.

(I’ll add the ad-free version of the very first episode down below…enjoy!)

As that show nears its first anniversary (yay!), I’m wondering if there’s interest here in having a new support option that’s sort of a “ad-free Lore + ad-free That’s Just Weird”, maybe at a tier that’s just $2/month more than the normal Lore packages.

I would hate to start promising a benefit if there’s no interest. And to be honest, the podcast advertising landscape has changed in such a way over the past year that small shows like That’s Just Weird really struggle to find a way to recoup their costs. So, this would be our way of keeping That’s Just Weird alive. No pressure, but also…you folks are so encouraging, supporting, and kind that I figured you would have input and advice that would help guide me. ‘Cause we’re a team :)

I should add this edit, for those who will ask: Cabinet of Curiosities is a co-production with iHeart, and my contract with them doesn’t allow me to post ad-free episodes like I do with Lore. That would be something they themselves would have to do, on a different platform or account. It’s a bummer, and I regret getting painted into that box, but them’s the breaks, as they say.
