Mansong Update!

I’d say I’m going to be ready to start posting by February (two years after I first showed you my world!) but here’s a question for you, what do you want to SEE in the story?
I’ll take all of your suggestions to heart and try to fit as many as I can in! The whole story happens in just over a month so it’s pretty fast paced, but I really want to show you what you want to see in the final product since you’ve been with my boys so long. So what do you have for me?

I’m eager to see Song & Mansa come through the agony of their separation stronger than ever! I REALLY need to know what happened to Thomas in that flash-forward moment we got, and to see him become a more accepting person of himself and others! You’ve given us SO MANY incredible characters in this plot line, and I want so much for all of them, but I’ll make myself stop with those (for now!) ♥️

2023-01-19 21:14:54 +0000 UTCSo excited!! I’d love to see Song really acknowledging Mansa’s patience/pain/sacrifices, and treat him as a person who hurts and needs care. That sweet boy is steady as a rock, but he deserves to have a stable emotional place to land, too 😭 Also, I am on my knees B E G G I N G for just one panel of Mansa holding Elon at sword-point. I know it’s important for Song to fight his own battles, but I’m also a basic bitch who goes feral for that moment when a calm character confronts the asshole who hurt their love and becomes a stone-cold badass. (Plus I’m sure Mansa still remembers very clearly what Elon said about Song in Smuggler. He deserves a little threat of violence, as a treat.)

If it's about a month's worth of time for the full story I guess that things like Elon and that bitchy police captain getting their due burn is out of the question...

So dates, with love in their hearts, but hesitation on both of their parts and learning how to work through that together. As I'm thinking about it, I think Song will need to court Mansa... and Mansa may require some convincing to let himself be courted.

Even if it’s just a post with text and nothing drawn, like a ‘Previously on Mansong’… like you said it’s been two years and my brain is mushy and old… any kind of map to remembering the most important bits of backstory is helpful. And… my hindbrain would love just a smidgen of smut… please 😏?

2023-01-19 17:46:09 +0000 UTCDefinitely looking forward to the fluff when they work things out, but I really want Mansa and Song to both have moments of explaining their vulnerabilities but also being responsible about admitting their mistakes. If Song were to talk to Mansa right after the temple incident I think he would apologize, but also get lost in his self-loathing. I hope he is able to grow and offer an apology that isn't overshadowed by his own misery. Mansa deserves a moment that focuses just on him.

And I'd like to see more of Etty and Algie too!! I hope Algie meets his mom so he could learn to be at peace with himself.

Who knows, in the fullness of time or the invention of fic writers, she might well wind up having a story of her own. We have had a few snippets of her already and I seem to recall that she wasn’t originally intended to be part of the main story so she’d most likely a subsequent story like an epilogue or something like 🥰 Sorry to ‘Neil Gaiman’ you but I guess we’d have to wait and see! 😁

Will you release all the stories in a book? Because I would sell a kidney for that😍 I personally would love to see the rest of Mansa’s and Song‘s family. And maybe a little glance on how they spend their time apart, how they felt and how it affected their relationship to the people around them. Also I think the main story starting off would be a fantastic occasion to open up that discord server. If you don’t have time right now to make one (or know how) I could help ☺️

2023-01-19 17:10:32 +0000 UTCWell, I love a happy ending for Mansong and anything where they’re being soft and tender or saucy with each other is always cause for celebration although I’m hoping that you’re ultimately thinking the same. ☺️ Love to see some BAMF Mansa too and if there’s room/time some Thomas growing up a bit into someone that Melody might look up to a little being as how they’re both Human and Infernal. Would our boys perhaps get wed or elope together? Maybe some power flexing for Song where he gets to show off his new conjuring skills but y’know you’ve probably got all sorts up your sleeves! Love the idea of little epilogues like when they meet Melody for the first time maybe 🥰❤️

And who they've known--Song already has a new cast of characters, but who has Mansa had during all this time? ....aughhhh really I want to see EVERYTHING!!!!

Like, some time to enjoy it, you know? But that could also be little comics or side-stories after the main story, if that works better for the narrative structure! (I just want the boys to be happy 😭❤️)
