2022-10-10 15:47:14 +0000 UTCI actually think Song might be mentioning his partner here because he’s about to reference the fact that he thinks Mansa can get him out of the charges, being a judge. I’m sure he also just desperately wants to make it home to him, but he has no reason to share even more vulnerabilities with Ghost, and he’s arguing against her logic that the police are bearing down on them and are bound to find out that Song was the one who met with Elon even if they do manage to escape—that’s why he’s looking toward Elon when he says it. Song really is screwed here. Elon is angry, vindictive, and connected, and he has very little left to lose. Not only did they just hurt a human using illegal magic, but he’s been smuggling some highly illegal shit for months. Mansa just got the biggest advancement of his career hours ago, after suffering through a year of grind in a shitty district, which was a punishment levied for his liberal views and, indirectly, his relationship with Song. Based on what we’ve seen, if the constables make it through the door, Song is going away forever or worse and Mansa‘s career is over. Looking at the view from Song’s sassy thigh high smuggling boots, I cannot see a path to any kind of tomorrow where Song wakes up safe in Mansa’s arms, enjoying a life together that isn’t about to be permanently ruined by choices that Song has already made 😔

Leaving Mansa hurts him more than having to deal with the mess that Song has gotten himself into. And knowing he’s so close to rescuing Song makes this whole thing even worse 😭
