I get the impression that Thomas's father had all the power in that situation, much like Elon had power over Song. No one in power would believe Song, or care if they did (other than Mansa). Why would anyone treat Ghost any better? Especially when she was young.

And seeing his mother being a loving parent to a full infernal child is probably going to give him the impression that his mom left him behind because she didn’t like that he was half human. Poor Thomas. He probably feels like there is no one who actually loves all of him 😭
