Mansa and Song (Chapter 1 | Page 37)

Judicial questions anyone?? 👀

Mansa and Song (Chapter 1 | Page 37)

Comments

Is he proud of Mansa from the few things he heard?

Little0cean

He’s heard a bit but really doesn’t know much

Whiteley Foster

I bet Song is going to try and argue that Mansa will be fair enough on his own without Song having to intervene. Has he kept up with the progres of Mansa's career at all since he's been gone?

Terri J

He would definitely be more fair than anyone else!

Whiteley Foster

Awww poor Song. It's going to be harder to say no now. But also harder to say yes because he knows the police captain is involved. He'll be putting himself at a lot of risk!

Atelerix

I can’t wait for them to meet each other again. I am both excited and terrified. It’s either gonna go down well or very very badly. I feel like the latter one is more likely.

Little0cean

Thanks for now spilling the imprecation beans, Erus 🤦🏻‍♀️ Don’t be mad just cause you have lil horns.

litlgreenleaf

That was the correct opening. Got there eventually when being an ass up front didn’t work

BlueBaggins

Would Mansa be permissive if he got assigned this case by chance? Like does he still have a soft spot for young infernals who don't quite think of consequences?

Michelle Garcia

He’s um… doing selfless things for selfish reasons. He’s a very neutral character, looking out for himself at all costs, just like mummy

Whiteley Foster

Awww look at Thomas and Mansa doing infernal cases together. That’s nice ☺️ Does Thomas do this because Mansa appealed that they help infernals or does he do this of his own volition? Did the boy get some character development during those 4 years? Also yay I really look forward to that comic 🥳

Little0cean

I’ll draw you a comic

Real prison for Raine if convicted of conjuring! Hexes can be dealt with in a bit of jail time, community service, or more frequently just a slap on the wrist since it’s so tough to control who’s using magic to chill a glass of water or light a candle (their magic influencing little stuff!)

Whiteley Foster

They come to the desk of the high council, they can either address it immediately if it’s of high priority, or pass it down to a blue coat - meaning the person would spend some time in prison while it was passed on, maybe up to a week. High council can also give it to their assistants. Thomas and Mansa have a reputation for taking infernal cases so it’s not unusual that Erus would think it would go to them. Once the judge sees the file they do a quick preliminary hearing where they decided if the case will go forward or not. Some judges are more by the book and decide it should go to a trial (which proceeds like a normal one - with a jury and lawyers) but some judges are more lenient and can dismiss things like misunderstandings. Like if an officer brought in an inf on the basis of hearsay, Grant would send it to trail but mansa might be more “the fuck is wrong with you, where’s the evidence? Dismissed!” And that would be the end of it.

Whiteley Foster

Oh no, Song won’t be able to say no 😭

Ash S.

look who has his ears down now, huh 😤 Raine is in the terrible situation though and totally not a stranger to Song, should have just led with that instead of being a dick 😔💔 what are the laws around conjuring like Raine did? real prison? smth worse? 👀

sick_pineapple

Song is *not* going to want to hear Mansa's name, me thinks.

YamiKakyuu

Can a judge just go ahed and choose what cases they take? Is that even the field Mansa works in? So far we’ve only seen him working on stuff like Bill 58. Also can we please know the context behind Banana Peppers? I’m sure we are all dying to know
