ReShade RT Global Illumination Update 0.8 is out!
Added 2019-10-27 18:21:40 +0000 UTCAs the title says, the new update is out and the wait has been definitely worth it! Performance improvements, vastly reduced ghosting, automated skycolor detection, better sampling, a metric ton of bugfixes (can't really pat myself on the back for fixing stuff I did wrong in the first place...) are just a few entries on a vast list of changes.
The files and the complete changelog can be found on my Discord as usual - remember Patrons, link Patreon and Discord accounts and join the server, otherwise you're missing out on some pretty awesome content :)

Thing is, all shaders have a more or less flat cost per frame, which isn't "10 fps" or such. 60fps means 60 frames per second, means 1 / 60 = 0.0167 seconds for one single frame. My shader adds a fixed cost of a few milliseconds on top of that, e.g. 2ms, that would make 1 frame take 0.0167 + 0.002 = 0.0187 seconds per frame. 1 / 0.0187 = 53.5 fps. The fps hit however is depending on how much fps you have in the first place. For 500fps, each frame only takes 2ms, my additional 2ms double that, halving your fps in the process.

Patreon is the main platform here, I just use its Discord integration to share the files, as we have guides, support channels all in one place, a vibrant community and (important for me and further development) direct feedback instead of people running off immediately after they got the files.

The only reason I usually share it over discord is due to security reasons (Patreon website itself isn't secure) and to have people at a place where they literally cannot miss the guides and I don't have to answer the same questions hundreds of times.

2019-11-11 05:35:45 +0000 UTCIt only sends you a mail if you have Discord and Patreon linked, iirc. It's not difficult at all, I did it myself for another creator. The RT shader works just like every other ReShade shader, you add it to ReShade and configure it like you want :) I'd really recommend you to try to get Discord working, because we have a lot of guides there.
