For those who can't get into discord, I got in by unconnecting and reconnecting via Patreon. I also had discord up in another window and the server just appeared with the rest. No pop up so look for the purple logo, hopefully this helps someone

I just signed up for this and unfortunately I'm getting some issues using this with Elden ring, enabling this in reshade creates strange lines all over my character and the world. I also could not get this to work at all. And even though online I couldn't find any tutorials or guides on how to install this pack, I'm 90% sure I did it right. I tried adding the shaders and textures folders into the re-shade ones, tried dragging the files loosely in there, tried both at once. I'm running Chromium, not sure if that matters, but it shouldn't, as I'm still using the bin/win64 folder.

Go onto your email that confirmed you as a Patron (I'm sure there are other ways to do this but this is how I got onto it) and then at the bottom it says "Connect to Discord". Then once you do that, open discord and you'll be connected! Btw there have been a bunch of updates since this was posted so definitely make sure you connect on Discord to get the newest!

I do recommend to find a tutorial video about this and study this. It will be more helpful later on down the line so that you really understand what its made for.

For anyone curious that doesn't understand this simple installation. Just extract the file you downloaded with WinRAR and open the file. Copy and paste those files into reshade-shaders. Keep in mind that these are only the files itself, it does not provide presets for you for whatever game like Botw. Those are on seperate websites that YOU have to do your own research on. Note: After installing the RTGI go to your Vulkan setting on the top right tab and find your resolution, make sure to use DisplayDepth on the home page to see the proper textures of what's showing for reflections. After finding the right setting till everything is sharp, disable DisplayDepth and mess around the settings for RTGI shader, you may need to set material 0 - 2 etc. That is found on Preprocesser definitions on the bottom section to modify each individual shader of what it's doing.

Yeah, you just gotta check the depth where it says "DX9" if you turn on one of the filters for it, it makes it easier to tell when you turn it on proper but it's kinda spotty with source games in my experience. Not impossible but it needs a lot of fiddling. Theres a tutorial on YouTube on how to fix your depth for reshade shaders in general if you need help.

the same question. I tried 4.9 for ETS2 but all I saw was an upside down GI mask in the game (I tried to choose different buffers). Now I tried to find 4.8 on the official page but I found only the locked topic on their forum without any links for downloading.

Have you tested 4.9? I'm about to, I think since 4.9 came out Jan2021, and this post was made in October, it might work. No clue yet. We shall see!!!

So i just joined today. I downloaded reshade, set it up and downloaded the above link. I am in the beta tier patron. I put everything from the above zip in the right spot for skyrim. The qUNITS and RT fx's in the reshade shaders file and the blue noise in the textures file. When i load skyrim reshde wont let me turn on the global illumination. It says early access- Patreon only.Error x3004 - undeclared identifier. What am i doing wrong?

https://youtu.be/aQ2Ar27yp2A It looks noticeably less dark and obviously higher quality in the shadowplay version compared to youtubes brutal compression, but it is what it is until I get a real GPU. Its not efficient nor insanely high resolution because the insanely diminishing returns of the PPFX SSDO glow effect being so hard to tune to not look worse, but thanks to you and like 8 hours straight of work, I got it acceptably demonstrable despite my low end GTX 1660 Ti being asked to do very strange things. AVP 2 using a wrapper for what looks like DX8 without all the features being used, so its more like DX7, but converting it to DX12 draw calls. Thats why raytracing is such a gemstone for retro titles. They just look so damn flat and ugly without it. Im also making pretty much every compromise I can to make all the layers compliment eachother. Like the ambient light effect when taken high, has a dithering consequence. So does my contrast exploitation really stretching the original data to look damn near 16 bit compressed which isnt necessarily out of place for the games era. That texture compression control would be helpful here. You can use this stuff to sort of hide the ambient occlusion around lights and I tune it to really the brink of standing out, and looking just wrong in the worst case scenarios. Im using .050 for reflection intensity and its so barely shining through the light effects, it checks out. Ever been on youtube lately? These people seem to think that the default reflection setting, where carpets reflect the ceiling looks super cool.

So I got it working a whole 30 seconds in AVP 2. I dragged in some x64 asset from the VG Voodoo 2 end of the wrapper and raytracing worked! Too bad the splash screen wouldnt go away unless you open the thing as admin, which I forgot about because it makes no sense to begin with, and from a software engineering standpoint is not even human levels of reason to implement be it microsofts fault, or the craftee of VG voodoo 2. My solution was, well it must be a glitch, so I remove its contents, and replace them to try to rectify it. Ever since no matter what, no depth data returns for use. It appears to be a change being made somewhere in the registry as ive seen similar behavior with invisible war. You can totally uninstall the entire game and its files, and even its registry point. Somewhere deep in the OS is the problem lurking, forcing me to literally reinstall my entire OS, and begin from square one with a system image before I dare venture back into getting this to actually work. Im not sure really what display depth is even for. Its been a totally worthless option 100% of the time, and these arent my first rodeo. In my experience it either works, or it doesnt. The options available appear to be coded in, to look important. Im sure they took hours and hours to code, like the time ive wasted jacking around with this stuff, and its basically like joining a secret society with a secret code, back, right, X, Square, with a backflip through a flaming hoop and praying it will actually work out, let alone consistently. Once it works, if you touch anything, it may never come back for an entire OS install. Another useless feature: system restore. Whats the point? Its an image or these little first world problems linger like plague to a person who takes graphical rendering: art, extremely seriously. You might not understand why it irks me so hard, but its because I share traits with the naughty A-M word you clearly dont like. Its an obsession that will see me through to the problems solution even if it takes me the entire week to do so. This archive im buildings entire purpose is to save other people the pain of dealing with this horrendous code with so many actors. I cant even really point fingers. I honestly dont even know whos culprit. Of course even the offshoot of linux on my phone is trash. Its basically inescapable, for years.

Im sure you're a busy guy. So now that im not a sleep deprived zombie, ive discovered that display depth will work if I install reshade into another game, then drag the reshade folder generated there to AVP 2. Too bad I have to do the same thing again to get SMAA working since it refuses to compile. My guess is its the programmer for reshades fault. It behaves almost as if its self corrupting. LOL.

Warcraft 3 reforged has the same problem unreal II and unreal 2004 do, though a bit differently. I can speculate this is going to be common in older code. I wish I understood more specific facts about this depth thing I cant get to compile in relation to these findings. Raw uncompressed goodness in shadow play for example would be a nice touch, maxing out the bitrate I suspect is still compressed. Ill try not to be annoying. I just had some relevant questions I wanted to upfrontly get out of the way, and youre one of the few people on earth I can reasonably communicate with, that actually knows. Pardon my obsession. Can we get an alternate non corrupt download for display depth? Im assuming its corrupt because thats how things behave if you mess with reshade enough. The one downloading from reshade never compiles no matter what I do.

Even digital foundry brought it up, so it must be okay to talk openly about. I mean its not the best solution, especially competitively. But 8k real time was called a "dumpster fire" by steve of GN. I totally understand why considering the marketspace demand aspect. At absolute minimum, we should have texture compression control. Also if we are only stuck with CUDA and base 32 bit floating point hardware on radeons, thats not even a big deal because all the modern stuff is going to be taxing the specialized hardware anyway and dumping more load on that instead of splitting it up, likely makes more sense. Your work puts you into God status in my book, for I take the million dollar famous paintings level appreciation for graphics rendering. My entire channel is dedicated to bringing this to the public as the screen space only variety. I would however love to see evolution toward a wider FOV calculation than the screen itself ordinarily tracks. It wouldnt compete with the upcoming nvidia full blown raytracing title launches like quake RTX demos either, so everyone wins. Raytracing needs to become like the benchmark of all benchmarks, hence hook us up because people are still going to prefer the extreme version of it especially thats not just sort of injected with the limitations and pitfalls in that. Wider than just screen space period would allow greater radius as you well know, with less artifacting. It would be more expensive to run, but still more performant than keeping track of everything within im guessing LOD even if its behind you which my card is a joke in quake RTX. LOL.

DGVoodoo 2, I had to follow a guide for AVP 2 to get reshade to even pop up in game. Nvidia 457.30, Build 19042.630, no corruption. Im about to go to sleep because I worked all night, but im hoping I can get this working soon. I also would like to know what the solution is to fixing the issue in unreal II and 2004 where it only renders on the gun, not the environment unless your character is unarmed, or in spectator mode. At minimum id like to know the vector to fixing this, whether it be the game logic itself, or if reshade can be retooled, or your end of things, or if something simple like a third party injection of code/patch would solve the problem. Kind of like spoofing your CPUID when going on adventures back in historic time to get full, say, SSE3 support. People will pay millions of dollars for 2D, all I want is a little control over the ancient classic art I dont see enough people respecting with the capabilities you have given joe blow. Its meme worthy how CARELESSLY they use it. It might not be truly binocular vision with VR, but it takes it beyond 2.5D to tease out more believable geometry, and even SUBTLE color bounce.

Anyone knows why the reshade preprocessor definitions box missing in the latest reshade/pascal? and yes I uncheck the high performance box, I have no idea what could cause this.

Alternatively, look for “modded reshade” a build of the tool which removes the network monitoring.

It’s ReShade, it disables depth buffer access if it detects network activity in the game. This is to prevent exploits. RTGI needs depth buffer data to work. Disable your network and the shader will work.

For examples, when I play warframe the shader seems to not work when playing a mission and flickers on and off when on ship and when playing spellbreak the shader works fine in menus and when going to practice but as soon as I enter a match it stops working until the match is over

It works. Try to disconnect and then connect your Discord to Patreon again. Took me two days tho, lol.
