I'm still alive! New update and explanations (justifications?)

Hey everyone,
it’s been a long time since I’ve posted here, so I want to start with a quick explanation.

Posting updates here always led to a wave of people skipping the Discord (where the files and support are) and messaging me directly instead. Patreon’s chat system was awful for handling that kind of load, and I couldn’t add any team members either because their old plans made it far too expensive. So I kept everything active on Discord and socials, and this page ended up quiet.

But worry no more: Patreon has finally updated their plans so I can add team members to help me with messages and support (please don't flood it immediately - the chat is still bad and we'll tell you how to get to Discord instead lmao). This means I can focus on what I actually want to do here: share updates with all of you directly again.

To kick things off, I’ve just uploaded a new update video. Here’s the short version:

• RTGI has split up into 2 shaders: specular and diffuse now live in separate shaders, making things faster, more stable, and easier to maintain.

• Specular looks a lot cleaner thanks to anisotropic path-space filtering.

• Diffuse got a physically-based spectral emulation that fixes oversaturation and weird hue shifts.

• ReGrade+ now has a monochrome workflow with HDR tint controls, plus some UX improvements.

• And a teaser of what’s next: rebuilding ReLight with Intel’s ReSTIR method, and a new depth of field addon for Otis_Inf’s camera tools.
