Commissioned Anonymously

After travelling to Thailand to visit his college friend, Tony finds himself in the awkward position of being transformed into his dream girl. Unable to keep their hands off each other, Tony ends up pregnant with triplets and has to come to terms with the fact that this will be his new life.

Prologue

It was easy to spot Jonny, even in the crowded Bangkok bar. At six foot three, he towered over most people back home in the US; here, he was practically a giant. His white blonde hair and blue eyes seemed as bright as the neon signs flashing above his head. Tony grinned and waved across the room as he entered and watched a few eyes turn in his direction. He didn't stand out as much as Jonny, with brown hair and equally boring brown eyes, but he was still clearly a foreigner. He hoped he wouldn't have to haggle at the bar.

“Hey man, long time no see!” Tony grinned, clapping his old friend on the back.

Yeah! Uh, why do you have your suitcase with you? Are you trying to get charged the tourist tax?”

“I came straight from the airport; I figured if I was meeting a local, it might stop that from happening.”

Jonny downed his beer and chuckled.

“Sorry to disappoint you, but I still get charged the tourist tax myself. I might have moved here years ago, but no matter how fluent I am, people still think I’m some sort of pleasure tourist.”

“Well, that’s why you went into finance, right? Haggling should be second nature to you right now.”

“Funnily enough, investment firms aren’t much into haggling.”

I rolled my eyes and ordered a beer; so much cheaper than back at home. I could see why this was known as a party country for college kids. Jonny and I were a few years past that now that we were pushing thirty. Still, this place made me nostalgic. It seems like only yesterday when we decided to take a whirlwind trip to Thailand to celebrate graduation.

I’d expected a week of beaches and cheap booze; what I hadn’t expected was Jonny falling in love with the place. He never did come back; now half a decade later, he was a member at an investment firm and slowly climbing the corporate ladder.

Jealousy burned in my throat as I swallowed down the cheap beer. Jonny had it made, and when the conversation inevitably turned to me, I had no idea what I was going to say. I was a teller at a bank, no girlfriend, and no other real friends to speak of. I didn't even live in a big city with a fun nightlife; I was going to run out of stories quickly. Hopefully, reminiscing could get us through most of the first night of this visit.

“This is just like the places we went to back in the day.” I grinned. Is that why you picked it?”

It was hard to tell because of the flashing neon, but I was sure Jonny flushed a little.

“Actually, I picked it cause it’s cheap.”

“All that business money, and you’re still such a cheapskate.” I joked, giving him a playful punch on the arm, but to my surprise, Jonny didn't laugh or punch back. Instead, he just gripped his glass tighter.

“It’s been here for years now.” He muttered, “I am working my ass off but…I can't get promoted. I’m still in the entry level position.”

Suddenly, my sad little bank job didn't seem so sad.

“You’re still working your fresh out of college position?”

“Yeah…I am ready for promotion! I’m the best in the area but…management won't promote me.”

“Why not? If you’re that good?”

“I don’t have roots,” Jonny said bitterly. “I’m just some foreigner with nothing holding him down. At least, that’s what I overheard after my last review. They think I will up and leave at any moment and don't want to risk me taking company secrets back with me.”

“Company secrets?”

Jonny shrugged.

“It’s just their excuse. They want somebody with ties to the country, a wife, kids, that whole schtick.”

Tony leaned back in his chair and looked his friend up and down.

“How hard can it be to get a girlfriend?” He said after a moment. “Not to be weird or anything but you’re a good looking guy with a good job, and don’t the local girls love Western guys?”

“Not as much as you’d think.” Jonny sighed. “Besides, I’m not just going to pick a random girl to get a promotion. I want a real relationship with somebody who loves me and doesn't see me as some exotic curiosity.”

“Aw, you old romantic.” Tony teased, desperately trying to change the subject to something light and jovial. “Anyway, why don’t we get hammered, for old times. It’ll help take your mind off things!”

Jonny seemed to take the hint and gave a weak smile before ordering them another two beers and a shot for good measure. Tony gulped his own drink gratefully, this wasn't how he imagined this reunion to go. Based on all the photos on Jonny’s socials, you’d think he was living the high life in Thailand. Finding out he was just as sad, lonely, and desperate as he was back home should have made Tony feel better about himself. But it didn’t. It actually made him feel worse.

The truth was, as simple as his life was, it had never bothered Tony too much. The more time he spent drinking and hanging out with his old friend though, the more obvious it became that Jonny wasn’t happy. His eyes would slide to couples jealously, and when they finally left the bar, his eyes lingered on the high rises of the business district in the distance.

“Hey man, chin up.” He tried lamely.

“Sorry,” Johnny sighed, “you didn’t travel across the globe for me to be a sad sack. Tomorrow we’ll do something fun, no more moping I promise!”
His smile was wide, but there was a sadness to it. Tony pretended not to notice. They went their separate ways, and Tony made his way over to the hotel he’d booked for his stay, only to turn the corner and immediately be met at a night market. Stalls selling food, trinkets and everything in between lined the streets and half blocked off the buildings behind. Finding his hotel might be slightly more tricky than anticipated.

Tony did his best to weave through the thick crowd, suitcase in tow, trying not to look like a total tourist and failing spectacularly as he checked the address over and over. It didn’t help that his head was still foggy from the beer and the hawkers were yelling. Tony’s Thai was so basic he could barely get a taxi, he had no hope of understanding anybody over this din.

Tony peered through the line of stalls, trying to see through them to the building numbers behind, when something caught his eye—a stall selling little tourist trap knick knacks. There were the usual mugs, pins and postcards, but a line of little statues made him stop. They all showed various women, voluptuous and naked, posing in various evocative ways that made heat rise to Tony’s cheeks. And they were just out in the open!

“You like?” Came thickly accented English from the woman selling them. “Very popular with young men like you.”

“Oh, I don’t um…”

“They bring love and luck.” The woman grinned, holding one up for him to see. “Carve your name on one of their backs, and you are sure to find a woman to love you.”

Maybe it was remembering that sad smile on Jonny’s face, or maybe it was the alcohol in his system, but something made Tony pause.

“What the hell, why not?”

He handed over a few coins, only remembering once he stepped away that he was probably supposed to haggle and cursed.

“I’d better not have gotten ripped off by a joke gift.” He muttered, stuffing the tiny idol in his back pocket before going back to his hotel search. It took half an hour and most of some sort of fried meat stick to eventually find the hotel. By the time he reached his room Tony’s feet were aching, and he flopped onto the bed, ready to sleep then and there. Or he would have if something wasn’t poking him in the ass. With a groan, he rolled over and pulled out the idol.

“Alright, you better make Jonny laugh, you literal pain in the ass.”

He fumbled for the pen sitting by his bedside table and scratched Jonny’s name down the curvy woman’s spine with a snicker. He placed her down on the table under the lamp and grinned.

“Night, little lady.”
