This is a pinned post that should give you an overview of the current state of this Patreon, as well as answer frequently asked questions. It is accessible to the public on purpose and will be updated regularly.

Current Focus: Pin-ups and catching up on cameos. Comics are on hold until I have caught up on cameos.

FAQ

What kind of art do you make?

I make furry art, often erotic, typically in sci-fi settings. Much of what I make features scalies, but I can and do make a wide variety of stuff. If "solarpunk" and "everyday life on spaceships" sound appealing to you, my art might be for you.

You can find much of my art posted here: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/vader-san/

Some of your tiers offer "cameos" as a reward. What's that?

A cameo is when I take one of my patron's characters and put them into my art. I try to think of scenes that the character would fit into and incorporate them into the setting. This is a way for people to get art of their characters drawn by me. Slots in those tiers are limited.

How do you choose who gets a cameo?

Cameo slots are only given to patrons who are part of one of the tiers that offer cameos as a reward. The number of these slots is limited so people don't have to wait for their turn forever.

Every 6 months I go through the list of patrons who are currently in one of the cameo tiers to choose who gets slots for the next 6 months. I choose based on several factors: How long has a patron been supporting me? Have they received a cameo before? How fitting are their characters for the ideas I'm having? Etc. I try my best to make this process as fair as possible.

The chosen patrons then get contacted by me and I ask them some questions to make sure we can come up with an idea that both they and I are happy with. If you don't want your characters to be in a group picture and would prefer a single character pic instead, that is perfectly fine. I try to make it work for both of us. Ideas that are set in stone are then added to the Trello board I use for scheduling. You can find a link to the Trello board near the top of this post under "Cameo Schedule".

Why does the Cameo Schedule keep changing?

I sometimes work on very large projects that take longer than a month to finish. When that happens I sometimes re-schedule these large pieces to be finished a month later and pull one of the smaller pieces to the front. That way I can still finish smaller cameos before the end of the month. All cameos get finished eventually as I constantly work on getting more of them done. Sometimes I just have to shuffle them a bit.

What is the "Goody Bag" and how does it work?

The Goody Bag is one of the rewards that is included in most tiers. It includes high resolution versions of every art piece and also comes with a little dropbox folder that includes small goodies each month, like WIP pictures, finished pictures and wallpapers. Every once in a while I also like to put little surprises in there.

The Goody Bag, along with the high and mid res versions, is posted at the beginning of every month, usually on the 1st or 2nd.

What is the "FA Sponsorship"?

The FA Sponsorship is a limited slot reward where I link to your FA page every time I post one of my pieces on Furaffinity. When you pledge in one of those tiers, I do need to know your FA handle though, so please let me know and I can add you.

Your Patreon is set to "Per Finished Illustration". How does that work?

Most Patreons are set to "Per Month", which means that you pay the amount you pledge every month. "Per Finished Illustration" simply means that you get charged for every finished art piece I submit instead. So for example, if you pledge €5 and I submit 3 pieces that month, you get charged €15 at the end of the month. You can also set up a monthly limit to make sure you don't overspend.

Even though my Patreon is set to "Per Finished Illustration", your cards get charged at the end of the month and not immediately when I post finished art.

How do monthly limits work?

When pledging (or after pledging, in your membership settings) you can set a monthly limit for your contribution. For example, if you pledge €5 and set your limit to 1 and then I submit 3 pieces that month, you are charged only €5 at the end of the month instead of €15. You still get access to all rewards and all posts. This is meant to make it easier for people on a budget and to make it so I can't cheat you by posting 100 pieces a month. Please set the limit to whatever you are most comfortable with.

How many finished pieces do you post every month?

I aim for 3 pieces every month. Some months are busier than others though, so sometimes I only manage to finish 2. I never post more than 3.

Is there a Discord server connected to this Patreon?

Yes! To join the Discord server, you need to connect your Patreon account with your Discord account (somewhere in your Patreon settings). Patreon's Discord bot should automatically add you to the server. We like to hang out there, sometimes I stream art just for patrons and I regularly post WIP stuff there as well. Stop by sometime <3

Comments

I'm behind on updating the Trello, but will fully update it in the upcoming days!

Vader-San

Is there a new cameo schedule link or does it not get updated anymore? The current one hasn't been updated for a while.

I never really understood the monthly limit feature before this, and was always afraid to use it because I didn't want to get locked out of posts. I don't intend to use it on this project, but I am immensely grateful for the breakdown here.

A very good summary of things. I'm certain it'll be appreciated by everyone. 💚
