In this case, we are trying to recreate the illusion of bright light received by eyes, not the surface illumination. To do this, select the brightest points in your glow, and draw on the weapon bodie a gradient spreading from it. Start with the darkest paint, and gradually shift subsequent colors towards the source of the haze. OSL affect can be added later.
