Status Update & Recruitment

Hi all, it's been a while since I made any status update, but today I have a few very important news to share.

Firstly, regarding Demon Sword Maiden, I'm sure you all remember from the last two update that our current translator had a lot of issues to deal with, and he still does, therefore, we've hired a new translator to take over the work from him. The chapters from the past two-three weeks were from the new translator. What do you think? The quality is not bad right? I actually plan to have the new and old translator work in pair so each translator will have lower quota to submit each month and effectively lessen the stress for them, but I still have no idea how this will work out since the old is still dealing with bazillion of real life issues.

Next, about Transcendent and Loli Elf, the translator for both of these series has been kind of pushing his limits these days, quoting that "keeping a schedule with a family like mine has been very difficult". He has been late on submission for the past few months and as of the moment of this writing, I still haven't received the full July batch of Loli Elf from the translator. The deadline for August is also fast approaching so I am not hopeful I will be receiving August batch of Transcendent and Loli Elf any time soon. I have been in talk with the translator and we agreed that if he's late again this month, he will drop Loli Elf, but if his tardiness keeps up any longer, I might have to reconsider if I should continue hiring him for the Transcendent.

Lastly, Blue Sky doesn't seem to be performing as well as we hoped, the views on the site are low and the number of patrons are also less than 20. We have been making quite a big loss every month to keep this project ongoing for as long as it has, not to mention that we have to hire an editor for this project since the translation quality was subpar. It is with a heavy heart that I have to break off with this translator in favor of a new novel.

Bearing in mind all of the above, we will need be recruiting new Chinese/Japanese translator to take over existing (or new) projects. If you are confident in your language and writing skills, or if you know anyone interested to earn some side income, please DM me.

Thank you.

Well, as I've already mentioned, the site views on Blue Sky is like a staggering 80% lower than our most popular series and at least 50% lower than our second least popular series, and that's a huge margin by all accounts. I mean I can make a poll but looking at the past data for the last 6 months, I'm not sure if that'll change anything. Please understand that this is no easy decision to make, I've been in discussion with my team for a long time now and we all judged that the cons far outweigh the pros at this point. In the end of the day, we're still sort-of a business and if we're making a loss, it's hard to justify continuing this for much longer. We've already kept this ongoing as long as we can while bearing the loss but as Re:Library is currently facing a financial crisis, it is with a heavy heart that we have to come to this point.

can't u just do a pool to ask for blue sky ? like that you will see if its popular

I hope so too, pray to the heavens above that we can find a new translator soon.

Blue Sky will be on indefinite hiatus after we finish publishing all available chapters, I am unsure myself if we'll be picking it up again in the near future. It'll largely depend on popular demand.

Q: Maybe the reason it's got so few patrons is because of how your tiers are structured. A: On that note, I am considering deleting Tier 3 from this Patreon and add the new novel to Tier 2 of another Patreon Page. Q: At least poll your patrons before you drop it and ask them if they'd go for a cheaper Blue Sky bundle that just has one, two or three of those other stories in it instead of all six A: I already told the translator we will be putting this on indefinite hiatus until we stabilize our current financial crisis. But I'll take note of that and start a poll some time soon to get some public opinion. Q: I think you'll find Blue Sky isn't as unpopular as you think it is. At the very least I find it hard to believe it's your most unpopular story. A: I want to believe it too but all the past data are pointing that Blue Sky is indeed underperforming compared to all the other novels by 50-80%.

The chapters from Demon sword maiden are fine, for Loli elf I'm kinda sad, I just subscribed for the new tier and I really enjoyed the chapters from this series but let's hope it isn't dropped

Before you drop Blue Sky, consider this. Maybe the reason it's got so few patrons is because of how your tiers are structured. Because you can't choose multiple tiers on Patreon Blue Sky fans are forced to choose between supporting that novel and nothing else or opting for your most expensive bundle. I mentioned this in the past but that's kinda hurting my wallet but I do it anyway because I just like Blue Sky that much. Other people might not have that much cash to burn though. Maybe they want to support Blue Sky but want to support other novels more so they choose one of the cheaper tiers that doesn't include Blue Sky. At least poll your patrons before you drop it and ask them if they'd go for a cheaper Blue Sky bundle that just has one, two or three of those other stories in it instead of all six. I for one don't read half of the stories in that bundle, it's just the only way to get it along with the other stuff I want. I think you'll find Blue Sky isn't as unpopular as you think it is. At the very least I find it hard to believe it's your most unpopular story.

So does that mean Blue Sky will be dropped or just paused? I really liked this novel so far, but I already support Demon Sword Maiden and have no room for more.
