Big Changes To Patreon Tiers Soon

You can pick any active novel you want. Tier 1 you can pick 1 novel, Tier 2 you can pick 2, and Tier 3 you can pick 3, and the list goes on. Just DM me after you made the switch and let me know which novel you want as your reward and I'll send you an invitation.

How does that work? I only read Transcendent, for example, so which tier do I need to read all the newest chapters of that novel? As all the new tiers don't list which novel they are for?

You can translate the entire document directly in google drive. You just need to create a copy of it, first. Preferably on your own google drive. Then you can translate the entire document.

we should be able to use google drive add-on to directly translate paragrapher with the Docs Paragraph Translate add-on, but it need the authority from the folder administrator to let us install them. And i don't know if it possible in this case.

Wait, when were these tier changes made? I just subscribed to the six novel tier and it said in its description I'd have access to the NSFW stuff but this is saying I need the 11 novel tier for that. Which is it?

I believe you should be able to download the chapters from Google Drive and post them on machine translation to translate the text to French, but thanks for your support until now regardless! o7

Bonjour je soutiens toujours surtout pour les romans que je lis mais en temps que fan français j'aurais sûrement de mal à lire les chapitres au quel j'aurais droit car moi je les lisais sur patreon sur Google en traduisant la page de chapitres en français et par Google Drive je ne pourrai plus le faire donc sa risque de me pose problème et sur le long terme il est possible que je ne soutienne plus car je ne pourrai plus lire les chapitres pensé vous pouvoir faire quelque chose dans ce sens car malheureusement je ne lis pas bien l'anglais merci d'avance PS: un grand fan français ! ^^

Of course, while I say permanent access, if you want to change your reward the following month, we'll remove your access to the other folders before granting you access to another one.

then what stops me from changing it every month and getting permanent access to everything eventually? Are there access controls in google drive that tie access to a specific account that you turn on or off.? I have 5 or 6 Google accounts and devices I switch between for work, for personal use, for sharing with friends and family, etc., not all of which I can or want to access all of my Google accounts with.

You will get access to google drive folder including the terms sheet, published chapters, edited chapters, and unedited chapters. I will make an announcement every month when the translator uploaded all the unedited chapters. But since people still want weekly update, I will continue to provide weekly update on Patreon whenever I move some chapters into the edited folder every week. Does that answer your question?

So, from what I've understood from reading the post as well as the comments, we would only need to DM once to get the google drive link to the edited folder that has the finished translations. What I haven't understood yet is the following: - Would we get notified whenever there is a new chapter? If so, how? - As soon as a translation as been finished 100%, is it uploaded into this "edited" folder? To me, the only thing I'm concerned in regards to this change is just the notification mechanism... and the weekly updates... Got to be honest, I really like the weekly updates and would be a bit sad if it became monthly. Aside from that, I'm ok with this change.

That is a very valid concern, it seems around 40% of the active patrons do not see this changes as something positive

While this saves me money, as I'm currently at the VIP tier specifically for access to one story, this will save me money. I'm worried that if you do this switch, you'll end up losing money and then slowing down translations.

you don't need to message me every month for the reward, unless you want to change your reward, it's a one-time thing, once you get the link to the folder, you'll have permanent access until you cancelled the pledge or want to change your reward in the following month

You may also think about people that don't subscribe all the time. I don't know if you have any, but on some anime reaction patrons I subscribe for a month or two, than unsubscribe for a month or two, and repeat. That way I save $20 and get a build up of episodes at once. You would essentially have to keep up who is active subscriber, who unsubed, and manage the list you send to.

Honestly, this seems like a hot mess and doesn't make any sense to me. The notion that I'd have to actively contact you to specify which rewards every month only to receive a link to go get it elsewhere seems like way too much trouble. I read at night before bed, what hoops do I have to jump through to get access when all I want to do is read a quick chapter or two? What's the response time? Do I have to contact you well in advance of when I want to read and hope you'll get back to me in time. I like the current system because, whenever I feel like it, I can just click one button in my favorites bar to check for an update, and can then immediately start reading. It takes 15 seconds, is spontaneous, and only involves me. I really do not want to see you move away from those tenets.

It seems like the biggest gripe in this whole ordeal is that people liked the weekly update. If it will help make the transition easier to accept, I don't mind posting a weekly reminder whenever I finished proofreading and moved the chapters from the main folders to edited folders. (Read the comment I left for Yuki Chan)

Hmm if the changes will help you to coordinate the whole project better, then I am all for it. But I think it is a bit sad that there will be no more weekly updates on the page. I really liked to read them in the page. On the other hand with the new Patreon design it´s a pain in the ass to open more then on page. So let´s get the show on the roll.^^

Regarding the weekly update/monthly update thing, I don't think much will change in my opinion. Every month I receive a set number of chapters from the translator, I save them on Google Drive folder, then I proofread a few chapters from those folders each week, move them to edited folder and publish them on Patreon. The only change is that I will not publish them on Patreon from now on so if you check the edited folder each week, you will probably notice new chapters in there. Or you can check the main folder to read the non-edited chapters if it ends in cliffhanger and you can't wait.

The only problem with the current system is that it's not as free as we hoped it'd be, that's why we have to split the rewards into 3 patreon pages. If we get more novel, it'll get increasingly harder to split the rewards into its respective tiers.

I'm fine with the merger of the pages but I agree with Bailey about not wanting monthly updates, I look forward to the weekly updates to know when there available for reading and reading from the drive is inconvenient compared to how it is currently

The changes to only monthly updates from weekly and requiring patrons to jump through extra hoops to specify which story they want, the current system is much better imo. It lets people pick and choose which stories they want, they get weekly updates and notifications straight from Patreon, and can mix and match as they please.
