FAQ & Plan B
Added 2022-08-03 11:55:59 +0000 UTCWe have read your feedbacks and concerns, since a number of you are still worried about the changes, we've come up with a Plan B, but before we go into that, let me answer some of your doubts and list some of the pros/cons regarding our original plan. This is going to be a long read so prepare yourself.

FAQs:
Q: I like the weekly update, losing the weekly updates will mean that I end up forgetting what I read last month.
A: As it seems like this is the biggest gripe everyone is concerned about, I'll first start by explaining the process. Once we implement this plan, everyone will get access to the Google Drive folder(s) of their choice, within the folder contains a terms sheet, unedited chapters, and two folders for published chapters and edited chapters respectively. Each week I will proofread a certain number of chapters and move them to the edited folder before publishing them on Patreon. What will happen from now on is that, whenever the translator uploaded the unedited chapters, I will post a monthly notice that new chapters are available, but since people seems to prefer the weekly update, I will also be posting a notification on Patreon each week whenever I moved the proofread chapters into the edited folder.
Q: The current system is much better in my opinion. It lets people pick and choose which stories they want and can mix and match as they please.
A: That is not exactly true, if you have keen eyes, you should have noticed, take this page for example, in Tier 1 you can only get Demon Sword Maiden and Dragon Princess, but not Demon Sword Maiden and Transcendent or Dragon Princess and Transcendent, why is that? It's because of how limited the Patreon tiering system is. That is why we can't have more than 4 novels in a single Patreon page, and why we have 3 different patreon pages to begin with.
Q: Honestly, this seems like a hot mess and doesn't make any sense to me. The notion that I'd have to actively contact you to specify which rewards every month only to receive a link to go get it elsewhere seems like way too much trouble.
A: You do not have to message me every month to get your rewards, this is a one-time thing, once you get a link to your reward, you'll be able to keep assessing the folder for the following months until you cancelled the pledge or want to change your rewards.
Q: Don't much care for Headshot perk, I'd much prefer an extra novel, if I want a headshot of my OC I'll do it myself.
A: Please think of the headshot perk as a side benefit, it's not as if you paying extra for this, you basically get this for free on top of the original rewards you'd be getting. Access to each novel cost $2.50 but it's not as if we can charge 50 cents on Patreon, that's why we rounded them up and added extra benefits in every odd tier. If you don't want it, that's on you, but you'll still be getting the same number of novels unlocked based on the respect tier.

I hope we were able to answer some of your most common questions with the FAQs above, now moving on to the pros/cons of Plan A.
Pros:
- You get a freedom of choice of novel of your choosing.
- We will be able to get a more accurate data of how many users are subscribed to each novel.
- We'll get charged 3% less fees by Patreon because Silva's Patreon page charges 5% fees while Musubii and Nomad charges 8%.
- You are free to read at your own pace (read the edited chapters weekly or you can read all the unedited chapters in one go).
- You can download the chapter via Google Drive to read offline.
Cons:
- You'll need to reach out to the creator to get access to your reward as it'll be handed out manually.
- You can only access your reward on Google Drive.
- We'll need to keep track of all the patreon's rewards manually.

PLAN B
So with that out of the way, let's talk about Plan B. So what is Plan B? Basically, we keep things as is (4 novels per patreon page) but will update the tiers to match:
- $3 - Tier 1A - Novel A (Access to Patreon artwork) (e.g. Hero King)
- $3 - Tier 1B - Novel B (Access to Patreon artwork) (e.g. Ragweed)
- $3 - Tier 1C - Novel C (Access to Patreon artwork) (e.g. DSM)
- $3 - Tier 1D - Novel D (Access to Patreon artwork) (e.g. Wiseman)
- $5 - Tier 2A - Novel AB (e.g. Hero King + Ragweed)
- $5 - Tier 2B - Novel AC (e.g. Hero King + DSM)
- $5 - Tier 2C - Novel AD (e.g. Hero King + Wiseman)
- $5 - Tier 2D - Novel BC (e.g. Ragweed + DSM)
- $5 - Tier 2E - Novel BD (e.g. Ragweed + Wiseman)
- $5 - Tier 2F - Novel CD (e.g. DSM + Wiseman)
- $10 - Tier 3 - Access to all 4 novels on the Patreon page (1 headshot entry)
- $12 - Tier 4 - Previous tiers benefits + voting rights (for new novel pickup and art commission)
- $15 - Tier 5 - Previous tiers benefits + Access to nsfw commission
- $50 - VIP - Access to all novels across three Patreon pages in Google Drive / previous rewards / 5 entries for headshot / name added into the hall of fame / Heavy influence on nsfw commissions (will be able to suggest 2 characters for the poll and suggest some poses)
- $100 - VVIP - Access to all novels across three Patreon pages in Google Drive / A headshot of a character or OC of your choosing / Name into the hall of fame / Heartfelt thanks from Re-Library and all their staff. This tier is only for those who want to help Re-Library the most.
With Plan B, we will keep things going as is, no major changes except extra rewards and more combo tiers so you can have a bit more flexibility in the novels you want to read (but it'll get plenty messy as you can see from the example above).
Pros:
- No big changes as how you like it. You can continue reading on Patreon.
- Everything is fully automated. Less work for the creator.
Cons:
- The combo tier might get a bit messy.
- Less room for growth as we'll need to create more patreon page if we get more novel.

Now that we've listed all the pros and cons (that I can think of) for Plan A and Plan B, we'll let you decide on which plan you prefer, if you think the pros far outweigh the cons, vote for Plan A, if you want to keep things as is, vote for Plan B.
With the future in mind, Plan A is the more sensible choice, but at the same time, Re:Library isn't really well-off in recent months, so we can't afford to brute force this plan and lose too many patrons in the process. Otherwise we won't be able to pay the translators to keep the projects ongoing.
That's why we are seeking for your opinions, if too many people reject this plan, we have no choice but to keep going as is, however inefficient as it might be in the long run. We will just have to pin our hopes that the new shiny stuff for the higher tiers is enticing enough for people to bump their pledges higher. Whichever plan we end up going with, I'll respect the majority choice.
Comments
well, sadly that wouldn't be possible at this time as it'll require us to rebuild the entire website.

2022-08-04 08:25:16 +0000 UTCI wonder if instead of using google drive to send us the chapters, you could make the premium chapter availlable on your website for the account of those who are subscribe.

2022-08-04 08:23:44 +0000 UTCHmm I can see where your coming from but switching Google accounts is just another 2 steps basically if your home page is Google, click the top right corner and select another account (it is also the same on Google drive app on mobile). I'm sure if you have multiple Google accounts, your accounts should be saved and automatically logged in through your PC or phone if you're like me. Also, I think a middleman like Patreon or PayPal is technically required unless somehow Silva can wire donations directly to a bank account through the website. And that possibly might also require some money to setup too cause I'm sure it's not going to be free.

2022-08-04 04:55:14 +0000 UTCI can certainly understand where you're coming from, but for me, as someone who just subscribes to one novel, it seems far more convenient for me to keep things as is so I don't have to juggle google accounts on all my different devices every time I want to read. It's not a big deal or deal breaker, but it wouldn't be my preference. If you can say that it will be as simple as clicking a link in my favorites bar to take me to a list of the newest chapters that i can read immediately and entirely at my own convenience, then I'll be fine with it. On a side note, it kind of seems like it may be in your best interest in the long term to build this functionality into your own website with user accounts and such. Can also then cut out the middle man and just pay payment processing fees instead of giving a cut to patreon.

2022-08-03 17:59:24 +0000 UTCPersonally, all for plan A, even if it'll end up costing me $9 more a month. Hopefully you can find some way to bot the work of manually controlling the google drive, but I know nothing about that

2022-08-03 16:32:20 +0000 UTCIt's the latter, I will send a read-only invite to your google drive account so you'll be able to access all the chapters whenever you like until you cancel your pledge.

2022-08-03 12:13:48 +0000 UTCYea, it's rough spot to be in. I think it may be more prudent to stick with plan B for now, while making strides to implement plan A? Not sure how. For one thing, I am still unsure for example how access to the google doc folder will work. Is it a link you send every month, so it changes every month? So if a person stops subbing they just don't get a new link? Or do we need to have a google account that you tie in to the folders access privileges?
