Addressing the Recent Earnings Trend
Added 2023-08-05 13:24:35 +0000 UTCThis is a follow-up update regarding the recent patron payment declines. Our earnings have been experiencing a downward trend, and we wanted to be transparent with our valued community about the current situation. We have carefully analyzed the data below, and it's evident that we are facing a challenge at Re:Library.
During the month of July, we encountered a loss of profit for the first time this year, which is a concerning development for us. As we look ahead, the estimated payout for August stands at $2928.23. With your continued support, we hope to stabilize our earnings for the month and work towards breaking even.
In light of the current situation, we want to assure you that we are diligently managing our resources. We currently have $50.37 remaining from the General Purpose Patreon, and we plan to allocate this amount to cover the loss of profit incurred by Project Gender Bender.

The table above provides the actual payout amount, while the earning insights below present a different number, and admittedly, I have no idea how to read the earning insights on Patreon. Nevertheless, the downward trend over the past two months is undoubtedly a cause for concern. The projected earnings for August, estimated at $2330.48, is indeed not as encouraging as we would hope.

To address these challenges and proactively enhance our platform, we have devised a series of plans:
1. Machine-Translated Novel Teasers: We are planning to introduce 100% machine-translated novels as teasers on our site. These teasers will serve as a gateway to a wider array of Gender Bender novels, with the potential of uncovering hidden gems along the way. Subsequently, we will have human translators pick up the most popular choices through Patreon polls. We are delighted to report that a recent poll conducted on Patreon received overwhelming approval, with an impressive 91% rating from 46 Patron users, further bolstering our belief in the value of this endeavor.
2. New Project Selection: Despite our current financial situation, we firmly believe in the potential of new projects to bring in fresh waves of visitors and patrons to our platform. Therefore, we are actively considering picking up a new project from among the machine-translated novels. Several of our talented translators have expressed their willingness to take on more work for Re:Library. While we acknowledge the additional translation fees this may entail, we see it as an investment that could potentially yield substantial returns in the long run.
3. Welcoming Freelancers: As part of our growth strategy, Re:Library will open its doors to freelancers, inviting both authors and translators to host novels of diverse genres on our site. This expansion of our offerings aims to attract a wider audience, providing an enriching experience for readers while fostering a supportive community for talented creators.
We are determined to navigate these challenges with resilience, and we sincerely thank you for standing alongside us during this period. Your support, whether through pledges, feedback, or simply being an integral part of our vibrant community, is invaluable and deeply appreciated.

Yea, I believe that was the case, I had published another post earlier to address the recent declines. You can take a look at that article here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/note-about-87167085

I was just wondering if maybe that was also a possible effect here as well? just a thought.,

2023-08-08 18:56:24 +0000 UTCNo worries, we understand the aversion towards machine translation. We would never put our valued patrons through the pain of reading through the atrocity. They'll be tagged clearly as machine translation on our site and their only purpose is to serve as an oversized synopsis of sorts.
