Here's a test episode.
Let me know your thoughts and if you want to start making these. I was thinking of a new episode every two weeks or so, and I have ideas on both possible additions to the format of the show going forward, and also a working process that I think would allow us to keep up the pace without feeling burdened. I can expand on those if you want.
Hope things are going well,
Joseph

amazing. just started listening to this (about 5 minutes in) Pausing
to ask you this. Have you ever listened to Hydropods (poetry/music
duo)?
Night vale reminds me of their style (this is a good thing.) Attached
my favorite Hydropods poem.
okay, continuing on now. It's crazy fun so far, though. I'd love to
help on this in some way. Let's do it.

Cool, I'm really glad you like it. I enjoyed the poetry/music thing you sent me.
I think every episode will have both a main story (in this one, it's the arrival and subsequent investigations of Carlos the scientist) and then short stand alone bits in between. The "Weather" segment would be a different song each time. Usually not one of mine, this would be music from any number of people/groups as long as the song fits the vibe of the show. I also think there's room eventually to add other characters and/or segments.
I would like the town to kind of build a life of its own, and towards that end, everything mentioned in the show is canonical. In other words, if Old Woman Josie is mentioned again, the fact that she lives out by the car lot and has contact with angels should be taken into account. This doesn't have to be a big deal, just little details that will make it feel more like visiting a weird place and less like random bits of poetry and jokes.

I like your thoughts here. I'm moving on Saturday, so once I get
through this final week of rushing to get all this shit done (yo), I
should be clearer of head. But on first read, I think you have a good
idea. My immediate thoughts are:
1. Yes.
2. We should definitely lock down a set schedule of every other
Wednesday (or some such).
3. Maybe even plan back-up or best-of or extra shows for those weeks
where we might not have content. Like, say, if we wanted to take a
show off around the Christmas/New Year's week or Labor Day or
whatever, subscribers would still be getting content.
4. We should meet sometime next week to talk schedule & beards & such
so we can get started.
Love it. More later, I'm sure.
