Sketchfest! and N(q)SFW Orym/Will
Added 2022-10-02 08:37:56 +0000 UTCOkay, I soooooort of didn't expect eighteen sketches when I put up twenty copies of "Haunted Forest" - serves me right! Thank you wonderful people. =D
I thought it might be something like eight sketches in twenty copies and I could package them all on Saturday to make way to the next batch. So Saturday got a little full as I did something like thirteen sketches and packed up orders with my daughter's help! I'll do the remaining sketch copies over the next day or so and I should be able to put up the next batch of Haunted Forest copies on Etsy soon. So if you missed the first round, you don't have to wait long!
Here are some of the sketch highlights. These are a LOT of fun actually, and maybe you can spot yours! They're all going out on Tuesday (Monday is a bank holiday here).
The autumn holidays have started, and naturally, the days are just packed! We had RPG night yesterday, so the Swan Knight is still waiting patiently to be coloured. Watching Critical Role on the sofa also resulted in a Will/Orym piece. CW: m/m romance and proooobably NSFW. ;) Orym is a little on the tall side here, but I redid this so often because I messed up the poses that in the end, I took anatomy over scale.
So, plans for next week: Finish the German translation for Haunted Forest, hopefully in time for MagicCon, pin a few hundred pins, package a few hundred prints, with the help of my daughter, and finish the Swan Knight. And have some holidays on the side.
New prints will be up in my shop after MagicCon! Most of them are the new Critical Roles ones, but I have two Haunted Forest ones as well as Art Nouveau Merry. <3

I understand and I see what you mean. The reason why I put that warning was mainly because to me, the image is a lot more overtly sexual and sensual than pretty much anything that I’ve posted in recent years, and the intimacy might make people uncomfortable. It's made people uncomfortable that were watching it take shape while I drew it, so I was a little self-conscious about it to be honest. I agree that the focus on "m/m" sent a skewed message and just putting "intimacy" would have been more fitting.

2022-10-03 20:34:02 +0000 UTCI’ve been going back and forth on whether or not to comment about this, but I have to be honest, the “CW: m/m romance” above the (gorgeous!) Orym/Will art is really rubbing me the wrong way. You’ve been really upfront about telling homophobes to fuck off, so I’m sure you meant well and didn’t intend anything by it, but as a queer person, seeing what is effectively a warning about The Gays being in love, as if that’s something to watch out for and that your audience might wish to avoid, makes me feel pretty shitty. I really love your work, I just wanted to point that out.
