Okay, so I've wanted to do this for years - make my own watercolour brushes. All the options are so daunting! But now I’ve worked my way through a few tutorials and the handbook and it's in the works.
Specifically, people keep asking me which brushes I use, and my answer has always been "thirteen different ones from sixteen different sets", which is not helpful at all. Now I've set down and learned to make all the brushes (23 right now) I can’t live without, and managed to come up with a few I've always wanted and never quite found - like an authoritative cauliflower blending brush! And since the best brushes are nothing without the perfect paper template, I photographed the grainage of my beloved Canson Héritage paper and turned it into a ready-to-go template, and I can’t tell you how bloody excited I am to share these! 🤪😃
I still need to do some playtesting, for which the Fingon-in-the-rain suggestion will be perfect, but then you’ll be the first to see them. 😍
