The Great Mesmero is a stage show magician with a foot fetish. During the show, he keeps it fairly innocuous. He does all the basic tricks and gags with his volunteers, cluck like a chicken, rigidly lying on chairs, the whole schtick. But "shoe phone" is where he really pays attention to his female volunteers. Anyone with cute feet gets a post-hypnotic suggestion to visit his hotel room after the show.
From there, it's just all mindless foot fun the rest of the night. In the morning, the ladies will awake from their trances and return home, although sometimes the maid comes early and he has to entrance her too.
