English explanation:
The drawing above is a parody of an istitutional advertisement campaign started in Italy to promote births.
And how they did that?In the worst way, of course, making sexist posters with slogans like "beauty is ageless, fertility's not", "fertility's a common good", "Young parents: the best way to be creative"... This crap made a lot of people to get angry, because there's a clear suggestion headed to women to accept their place in the society (the common good of the fertility and procreation) and they recall all that fascist propaganda to increase the birth rate to empower the nation. But this is not the only thing. In Italy there's a big unemployement rate. People are unemployed or have temporary works. Someone doesn't work for money but for VOUCHERS! And our government try to convince them to have babies! And with which money they will rise, if they don't have a continuative work to have a shelter, to eat something hot every night, to provide to all the needs of a baby?Second point. In the past months in Italy there was a big discussion about the same sex couple's rights: a law that allow to every couple to do a civil union (less than a marriage, but better than nothing and above all recognized by law) was made but they can't adopt a child or resort to medical techniques like surrogate pregnancy.Couple (straight and married) can do assisted pregnancy, but with some limitations to respect the embryo (they can't do pre-implant tests and screen some diseases before the embryo is implanted and other terrible things), all because the embryo is alive. So this is the situation: there's a lot of people that would want to have a baby but law doesn't allow them, but the government encourages young couple to have babies even if the don't have resources to raise them.
this is fucking crazy and this is why i made my version of the official posters with Ellen Ripley who enjoy the pride and the joy to be a mother.
The quote says: "Beauty can wait. Not the Queen"
Sorry for the looooong text
