How I'm Making Better Audios For You This Year

Hey, hey, hey, my lovely humans! 💜

So, I've been cooking up some super exciting improvements to the audios I release just for YOU, and I couldn’t wait to share them! Prepare yourselves for a wild ride through what I’ve been working on behind the scenes.

1. Voice Acting Classes - I’m basically a pro now, no big deal

A few months ago, with some of your amazing donations (thank you, thank you, thank you!!), I enrolled in voice acting classes! 🙌 The first batch of audios I’ve recorded since starting my training will be hitting your ears next month! 🎧✨

My first class recently completed, which was an introduction and covered the fundamentals of voice acting. We worked on the basics, like breathing, posture, and pacing. While I truthfully feel like I was a bit overqualified for the most introductory course, I still feel like I gained a lot from it. I did work with several professionals who had pretty valuable feedback for me, and I ended up finishing top of my class!

Classes start all throughout the year. The next course up in the curriculum I unfortunately missed enrollment for, so I won't be able to start it until May. In the meantime, I've enrolled in an improv course that I'm hoping will help with streaming, ramblefaps, and phone roleplay. In the future, I will take more advanced voice acting classes, as well as those that specifically focus on character acting - which is what I do here!

2. Hiring Help - Because I can’t do it all...yet. 😅

Okay, so, I may have tried to do the impossible (publishing daily audios, streaming 3 days a week, running a separate YouTube channel, podcasting, etc. 😵), and let’s just say it was a lot. But drumroll - I’m finally at a point where I can hire some help! This means I can focus more on giving you high-quality content without the burnout.

In other words, this will allow me the capacity to put more thought and time into releasing quality work. Thank you for your endless support, you’re literally making my dreams come true. 😍

3. Stricter Script Selection

Try saying that one 5 times fast, hehe! 😝

When I first started posting on GWA, I'd take any script that I could post on Patreon, regardless of quality.

When a script writer gave me permission, I'd email every script they wrote to myself, that I could post on here without breaking guidelines. Unfortunately this means that some... undesirable scripts made their way into my queue.

While I try to give accurate descriptions and tags for the audios, I want to make sure you don't feel like your time is ever wasted.

Therefore, I'm spending more time vetting scripts, and disregarding scripts that appear to be lower quality, or are otherwise less appealing.

4. Working With Other Creators - I’m collab-crazy, and I love it!

Remember my epic collab with WildflowerPhoenix? Well, guess what? I’m officially going collab-crazy! 🤣

I’ve already reached out to 8 other VAs (yup, including some BIG names!) and have 2 collabs already recorded, with 3 more in the works!

If you see another VA talk about collabs, throw my name out there! I’m down to work with anyone, whether they’re just starting out or are industry legends.

Seriously, suggest me, please! I beg you! It would mean so much 😭

5. New Microphone...?

In October of last year, I released my first audios with my current microphone - a Warm Audio U47 that I paid about $1,000 for, made possible due to generous Patrons like you.

There is one final microphone I hope to acquire at some point this year - the famous Neumann U87.

This is as good as it gets. Every voice actor knows it. It's the microphone of legends.

Pretty much every anime you've ever watched uses this mic for character dialogue.

If I can save up enough money to get it, you'll see yet another bump up in recording / voice quality, AND I'll be able to take on more traditional voice acting roles - maybe even showing up in some animations or games!

(Well, a girl can dream, right? 🤩)

Sadly because it's such an industry standard, a lot of bigger companies won't even consider someone that doesn't have this mic.

So while this is one thing I can't give to you guys yet, it is a goal of mine by the end of the year!

Seriously though, your love and support push me to do better and better every single day, and I’m so grateful to have you all with me on this journey. We’re just getting started.
