Mannequin Epilogue process
Added 2018-11-16 06:00:07 +0000 UTCJust thought I'd post some step-by-step sketches that led to the latest Epilogue in the AML series. I knew I wanted the image to be Ophidia tending to Mannequin Angela. The first sketch was good for working out the poses, but the composition was too flat and didn't really show the environment. Even if I put a bunch of clothing racks behind them, nothing about it really screamed shop window. In the second sketch, I remembered the copy of How to Draw the Marvel Way I had when I was 10 and drew anything that wasn't a flat angle. This gave me a way to show the outside of the shop. As you can see, I originally had a hanging sign, but I had to draw the characters too small to make it work. I changed it to a painted window, added some pedestrians, and that's it!
