A 100% SFW post today! That's crazy!
Only summer break could lead us to it! :D
Anyway, i'm very proud of show you one of the last seasonal commissions i drew. She's Becky, I've already drawn her, do you remember the Happy Meal illustration?
I'm always proud of working with her, because she always asks me to draw about her transition. This time she asked me for something about the coming out, not a classic before and after, but the immediately after coming out and now. I don't have a direct experience of this, because it didn't happen to me, but it takes a lot of strength not only to come out but also to stand all that people can tell you about that. Or also what you believe people could think about that. These are things that can make you prefer not telling anyone and keep everything inside. Luckily, some of us are surrounded by supportive people and this delicate step can be done easily and then you start shining like Becky does now.
Discovering your gender identity is different from your biological sex can be scary and can cause many sufferings, but in the end of the process you achieve a bigger self awareness, you're more confident in yourself and you have your life in your hands. When I draw these works for Becky i feel this pride, this will to tell everybody "I made it and you can do it too!"
I'm happy for her and I'm happier because she chose me to tell that to everybody.
Time lapse video in the next post!
