It’s less about vanity or the loss of her lanky build so much as the scientific impossibility of it all. Where did the additional mass come from? How did her clothing change with her, if a tad selectively?
On my end, the decision to do a fourth entry in this series meant an opportunity to draw the WG-afflicted character from a different angle. Back fat will not be ignored!

That’s a fate too dark and gory for any of my characters, and that’s the Mr DNA Guarantee! Especially the already put-upon Shelley. It pains me when bad things happen to her in the story, so the last thing I’m going to do is make her skin fall apart.
