Added 2020-01-14 05:45:54 +0000 UTCFinally watching Sym-Bionic Titan on Netflix. Now I knew this was an acclaimed Genndy Tartakofsky project. I knew it featured giant robots. I even knew it spent an entire episode involving the female lead undergoing a protracted transformation.
But nobody told me that Ilana wore multiple cute outfits in every dang ol’ episode! I have yet to see any repeats in her wardrobe.
Overall, I’m enjoying the show quite a bit, but Lance is a total drag. I get that he’s the stoic guy, but his voice actor never sells it. It’s like he’s refusing to emote. Maybe they’re going for some kind of nod to early anime translations, but it ain’t working.

I can't explain why, besides the fact I'm just a weird dude, but I think Illana looks absolutely adorable when she's half-monster. Something about her exposed brain just makes me want to cuddle her. I'm fully aware she'd bite my face off, but...she's just so CYUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!!

2020-01-14 17:35:22 +0000 UTCI think I’m only 6-7 episodes in. And I don’t mind Lance as a character, it’s just the voice actor. His intensity never matches what’s happening on-screen. He’s always just talking loud when he needs to be shouting.
