Added 2020-09-17 04:01:41 +0000 UTCHaven’t done a sad sack post in a bit, so here goes. I’m stalled, creatively. I have ideas, I have things lined up, I have collabs and stuff in the works, but I can’t seem to summon the will to sit down and draw anything. That’s why those of you in the monthly tier may have noticed a distinct lack of content in the month of August. Things aren’t looking good for September either. My hopes were to at least have the August-intended thing done by now and crank out something else before October, but right now I’m sitting on one competently inked page, three okayish pencils, and a nebulous scratch of what could be one or two pages, and I’m feeling next to none of it.
I don’t know what brings this on, and it usually doesn’t last this long. I don’t like the effects of it to spill over to you guys. I want to keep the content coming, because that’s in part what you’re so generously here for. Plus, it’s fun for me, provided I can actually make something.
I’m not sure what to do. Maybe it’s a matter of finding a better work flow. I can barely muster a proper ending to this sentenc

Take some time off and just watch a new series or play a game. If you feel like you need to work on something let it be whatever random silliness pops into your head. Heck, when I first encountered your work it was a lot of Nintendo fan art.

I'm a musician, I've been where you are and unfortunately I will be there again; so I definitely feel for you. With the amount of amazing quality art you put out each week your creative neurons deserve a little bit of recuperating time. =)

Like, that takes incredible skill, dedication, and talent, but no matter what, that's draining. Constantly trying to come up with something? Constantly trying to create that something? At some point, you just need a breather, or you're going to feel exhausted. Even if you enjoy it, it's still work. It's still mental, and to a decent extent, physical energy you're exerting. Burnout is a real thing. I literally do not know any artist on Patreon who is as prolific as you. That's not a suck up. That's not some fanboy thing, or whatever. Look at the sheer quantity you've posted on here. Like, 650 drawings? I don't think anyone would blame you if you took a 'me' day, or two.

2020-09-17 04:47:47 +0000 UTCIt's totally OK, take the time it needs for you to find your muse. This whole year with the pandemic and whatnot has been taxing and draining on everyone. The lack of events and gatherings has made it seem like one long drawn out draining episode of bad TV drama or something , with no end in sight. We all need something to help us recharge. I'm a patron because i want to support you in doing whatever it is you want to do, i'm not here for specific content or updates, but because I want you to just 'keep doing your thing' and if that means taking a vacation, by all means do so!
