Thanks & Discord:
Thanks everyone for your support, It means a lot to me to be able to make the kind of ero game I've been wanting to play for ages. I'm going to do my best to justify your trust in Accidental Woman and myself.
Part of that is Discord, which I have to admit I was really new to when I started the server for AW. It's a pretty cool platform, and thankfully it's really easy to join. Everyone is welcome, patron or not, and you can feel free to just drop in and ask a question. The reason I really like it is that it has allowed me to share what I'm working on at the moment, and ask for feedback as well. It's also been a great place for suggestions (us/metric setting, and high-contrast settings are both suggestions I like, for example), and I get to share up-to-the-minute progress far easier than making an entire post. (I'll keep posting, of course!) You can also drop in and read the message history to keep tabs on my work ;) Of course, I don't spend a lot of time talking because I'm busy working, but I like chatting when I get a chance.
Work for the Next Release:
I'm really going to start focusing on the code framework, which seems to be the preference of most people. That'll let us get to "open" play a little faster. It'll also mean some placeholder story text, as it takes longer to write than to code. I've been trying to structure the prologue/tutorial section so that I can introduce new systems as I code them, because otherwise it'd be really hard to show you the work being done. When the prologue portion is finished, there's going to be a "skip" button... I know it's pretty long! Thanks for having patience while I do my best to build a solid foundation for the game.
My Immediate Focus Is:
- Setting up the attractiveness system, that calculates the pc's attractiveness (and sexiness/cuteness + formality) based on the PC's body, face, current clothing, and the status of said clothing. (note that body type won't be terribly important overall, so that you can play the body type that you want to play. NPCs will have preferences though!)
- Part of the above is finishing the clothing code to properly interpret worn clothing, and having the system ready for clothing status later on.
- Coding the grooming system, which is a general label for the different aspects of your appearance from hairstyle and makeup to body hair and jewelry. This needs to tie into your appearance as well, but also includes skill checks (for learning new styles or achieving a new level of makeup quality).
Once that is done, I'll be posting a new version.
I don't have an exact date this time, as certainty is tough for this and I don't want to over-promise or under-promise. My guess is somewhere between the 12th and 16th.
Also, I'd like to say sorry in advance, because I made a mistake with some variables I set up to be initialized in the last version. My hope was that having them initialized in advance of the code would make save compatibility much more simple for the new version, so you wouldn't need to start a new game. Unfortunately, this didn't quite work out, so saves will only have partial compatibility. I'm sorry about that, It's pretty tough so early on :/
