2017-12-17 01:40:57 +0000 UTCBitcoin purchase and storage/wallets usually require you to signup somewhere with an email. If you can recall what email you used at the time, you can look for the receipt which will lead you to the site which you can then request information from.

2017-12-16 07:38:02 +0000 UTCI have a friend that was gifted 1000 bitcoin and a real life coin note upon leaving a job in 2011 (helped build the company, then married and moved across the country). Well he, as well, never thought much of it. I remember him being angry at the time about it, though he though the coin was cool. Long story short, his wife just found that bitcert for the 1k coins... He almost shit himself. Side note to that, it was also what the boss got everyone for a Christmas present that year, on top of their bonus. (He bought himself a $13mil yacht)
