A Quick Question

Part of the planned content for the Hucow Expansion includes a small amount of interaction with the calves from the other hucows; mostly from the mama cows and quite possibly a cute event or two. Another item is finding out just what they're teaching the little girls in school, and experiencing some of the dilemmas of parenting and public education (in a non-political Appletree sort of way). 

Babies and small children are off the table (for now, at least) because it's important to me that caring for children doesn't involve any neglect or abuse, so the necessary work for doing it right is more extensive.

However, with hucows, there is an opportunity to be a temporary or adoptive mother to a calf who is older and more self sufficient. Perhaps the real mother is ill (or whatever reason) and they want someone to help care for the child so their whole environment doesn't change. This would give an opportunity to experience some of the calf-related content in a more intimate way, without the full on burden of actual parenthood (and associated game requirements). Functionally, it'll be more like a pet (the Coop being the actual "guardian") that you can talk to and do things with, with some moral choices about how you want to influence her future.

I want to gauge the interest in this before putting any work into planning or creating it. If it seems like a popular idea, it'll be easier to lay some of the groundwork early on.

For me, the wish-fulfillment aspect is key, which contains both kink and non-kink aspects. Sometimes they coincide comfortably and sometimes they don’t.

A lot of people seem to want kids. Despite this, I wonder if it might be better to focus on the planned storyline with Sunshine's daughter Rosie. This way, you can interact primarily with Sunshine about the choices Rosie faces, without directly interfering in a significant way. This needs a lot more thought than my initial "this would be a fun way to do this" thought, lol

I think it would be really interesting to have to struggle with different choices where none are ideal. Example: Do you encourage a child to fit in with their peers, in order to help them have more of a social life, or do you encourage their individuality at the expense of potential isolation? One thing I've learned from having multiple kids of my own, is that there's rarely a "good" choice. I wonder if this is just adding an unnecessary type of emotional depth to an adult game. There really wouldn't be any erotic type rewards to the interactions beyond what already exists and could be experienced in the environment. Given the huge potential for outrage or problems, it might not be worth the risk.

I guess it would be important to consider context. Obviously we can't prevent people having perverted thoughts, but I don't necessarily think that means we should remove everything sensitive that people could have them about. The children are already "exist" in the game world, and we wouldn't give any options to do anything inappropriate. I suppose the bigger issue would be the take on public education and the parental role of guiding a child. People can get really touchy and offended about things like that... they do constantly, in just about every way/direction/leaning. I can see it being much more of a minefield than anything kink related.

I don’t know how to navigate the adjacency of children and the kink elements of the game. Granted that it’s not my problem to figure out, but here’s a poll on it and it leaves me uncertain of how to answer.
