It helps Steam gauge interest for the game and where to push it, bringing in more people.
When Early Access is launched on Steam, members of the Patron tier at the time will be able to DM me to get a free copy on Steam :)
I'm aiming to launch after EP3 + Halloween update releases here - so sometime November if all goes alright.
The main difference between Patreon game releases and Steam releases will be Steam releases coming a week or two after Patreon releases, and Steam releases will have tracked achievements.
Other than that, there is currently no other plans to differ the two.
I was finally able to get a presentable page up for the game after a month's worth of back-and-forth with Steam's support. They've been very helpful. Getting a store page up is quite a bit more work than what one might imagine, having not done this before.
