We shield kids too much so that's why they take longer to develop good decision making skills and maturity or empathy. Because of the environment I grew up in, I had to grow up by 9 or 10 so I was like a 30 year old in high school and ended up babysitting all my friends who were just maturing and getting themselves into trouble
