I thought that OVAs were side stories and not always necessarily canon. I think the writer made YunYun's second meeting with the team almost identical to the one in the OVA on purpose just to reference it, even though it technically didn't happen in the overall story. (Kind of a what if scenario for fun or an alternate path that ended in a bad end for Kazuma; another death and meeting with Eris)

He was arrested at the end of episode 10 and in prison in season 2 episode 1. It's not like he was just wandering around freely between the two episodes.

I think the anime should've at least explained that Megumin does have a little sister before sneaking it into S2 like this. It leaves a lot of people confused and makes them assume she's Yunyun instead.

And I don't think are experienced enough with anime yet to even know that OVA episodes aren't part of the regular season, nor to are they able to recognize that the episode wasn't an actual part of the season.
