the saddest thing about Erens last statement is the fact that the enemies are literally the rest of the world. before it was just a number of titans that you can legit count... but now it's the whole planet. It's more than daunting... it's unrealistic to think it can even be done.

That’s how we’re wired n lots of history in human civilization was found. The king wiped their memory of any other existence of the world outside, so clearly he won’t allow that.

2023-12-15 03:26:47 +0000 UTCimo Eren and Mikasa chose Armin because he’s their best friend not because of strategic reasons. And then had to come up with some to justify the choice. Hange picked Erwin. But it was only ever Levi’s choice that mattered because Erwin entrusted it to him. And 100% Levi chose Armin because of his emotions. Because he thought Erwin would be the better choice to bring back but wanted to finally give him peace and not bring him back to this hell. I don’t think he was really thinking of Armin at all when he was choosing. It was only Erwin. If he was thinking of anything to do with Armin, it was remembering the night before when he was eavesdropping on the trio’s conversation about the ocean. So I disagree with the premise that Levi went against his feelings. I don’t think he was thinking logically at all. But thankfully, there ARE a lot of good reasons for choosing Armin though they are probably harder to explain to the upper brass.

Remember that it only controls the founding titan holder if that person has royal blood. Eren has it now, so he isn’t affected by the kings “will”, as opposed to the previous owners of the founding titan. That’s why he hasn’t “changed” in that way.
