2023-10-27 23:44:57 +0000 UTCThe discussion about soldiers just having unfortunate 'accidents' in a combat zone is pretty ironic, because it's exactly what happens in a cut content from the manga during the Ishval flashback. When the Head Priest tries to surrender to halt the fights, the general in charge refuses and call his men to carry on the extermination... and is promptly shot by the state alchemist under his command ("did you know that a third of officer casualties in war are due to friendly fire?"), while every present soldiers (including Maes Hughes) calmly comment on how unlucky it was that their general was hit by a stray shot.
