2024-03-31 23:28:04 +0000 UTCWith the brain washing Zeke was put under by both his grandparents and his parents I've always been of the opinion that the truth about their history is a bit of both but rewatching it with you guys I'm convinced that everything Marley says is pure propaganda without even a shred of truth. According to Marley, the Eldians spent 2,000 years slaughtering their enemies and forcing them to carry their children yet there are so few Eldians. On Paradis Island there are only 1 million Eldians. The Marley Internment Camp looks to only be around the same size as Shiganshina(Eren's hometown) which only had a population of about 10,000. The Internment camp does look more packed in with apartment buildings but it's unlikely there are over 100,000 residents. Assuming Marley has the largest Internment Zone there can only be about 2-3 million Eldians in the world. There are no total population figures given in AOT but as of 2024 there are 8 billion people, if AOT had the same then the Eldian population is only 0.037% of the population. That is just too low for Marley's claims to have any legitimacy, Even if we gave Marley an edge and said their technology looks to be about the 1920's and used that population to get a number it's still 2 billion people and the Eldians would still only be 0.15% of the population. 2,000 years of rape and slaughter and they're only 0.15% of the population at the most? Doesn't add up.

He literally was beneath the stage where Willy was presenting so that he could eat him! I think that that the people of the apartment was just collateral damage.

Condoms and contraceptives do not permanently prevent pregnancies like forcefully changing the way people's bodies work does. Condoms and contraceptives aren't applied to every single person within a particular ethnicity.

If they ALL choose to in order to stop having children then yes it is kind of self genocide, but in that scenario it's their choice. What Zeke is doing is taking away their choice, making the choice for them. If we're talking some Eldians using condoms because they don't wanna have kids, that's not even close to genocide.

Folks are not just going to turn off their hatred bcuz they're told Eldians can no longer transform. In fact, I think most of the world wouldn't believe it anyway. They would probably get treated worse since they are no longer useful.

To shorten their lives for them just like Zeke’s parents were asking for because Warriors and their family get to become Honorary Marleyans. They just had a different reason than Grisha and Dina.

It's such a great show! That aside, great discussion overall! "We're playing God math like Zeke and Eren" is a very good take. It happens to almost every person I know who watched this show. Good stuff!

2024-03-28 18:58:12 +0000 UTCThe issue with the "stop eldians from becoming titans" plan, is that if they could do that, that wouldn't stop the world from treating the Eldians like they do. If anything, without their ability to turn into titans, they may treat them even worse, like a certain Austrian if you catch my meaning. Zekes plan at least stops the Eldians from being treated like that anymore after the generations that are currently alive, because they won't be around to BE treated like that. It's kind genocide basically, which is still genocide no matter how you rationalize it, but I can see in this scenario why it would probz be the most merciful thing possible, outside of the FT making all Eldians die peacefully next time they fall asleep if that was possible, still genocide either way though.

But the founding titan itself probably can’t stop being the founding titan. And when someone else becomes the founding titan, they can change eldians’ bodies again. So yeah, preventing eldians from making kids probably the most reliable solution. And if Marley starts using eldians in ghettos as a titans and massacring them, the founding titan always can threat using millions of titans in paradise walls to destroy Marley. And controlling who inherits the founding titan in the span of 70 years is a lot easier than controlling it for the eternity.
