Please read this from a Montery Bay F.C. fan(also love your content man:) ): This was a such a devastating draw for us as well...We needed three points from this match and nothing else. At the time of this game were in 8th, so technically we were above the line. However, the major issue was the team in 9th, El Paso Locomotive F.C., sat on 39 points coming into that Saturday and they had a game in hand against us. So our destiny is wholely and utterly out of our control if we were not able to see this result through it only adds to the tension in the west. I had mentioned in another comment previously that this was our 3rd goal we had conceded in the 90' minute plus in the past 4 days. Well that's because we had faced San Diego at home 4 days earlier on Wednesday. We went up 2-0 on San Diego 35 minutes in but conceded on the stroke of stoppage time and gave San Diego life. The entire second half was San Diego. We missed a sitter in the 89' and lo and behold it cost us. Pathetic defending left to us conceding the equalizer. We then conceded in the 90+3'. It was a truly crushing blow to our playoff hopes. And I just saw you posted the El Paso vs Charleston reaction, and so looking back on the Oakland match and San Diego match, dropping those 5 points and not closing matches out could make the difference between us getting our first ever franchise playoff berth or once again crashing out again. We have 2 more matches to play, one home one away, and we lost 4-1 against San Diego(Yes we played San Diego in the span of 10 days). You also mentioned how up and down teams are, that is the epitome of Monterey Bay F.C. For four weeks we can look like a top 5 side in the USL, the next 4-6 weeks we look like a bottom 5 side. I grew up in Monterey and I never had a professional sports team close to me. SO when Monterey Bay F.C. came around in 2022, which it should be noted we were only JUST founded in 2022 so we are still very new, I was so incredibly happy. It's as the old saying goes, IT'S IN THE BLOOD.

Itโs probably like a good league 2 level but itโs awesome how much youโve dived into Football in America. Weโre deff up and coming as a footballing nation but as the younger generations get hooked on it soccer will stop losing out on the amazing athletes to American football ๐ baseball, hockey and basketball. I see a bright future for soccer here in america. Itโs going to be a long hard road. But weโll get there
