That's probably one of my favorite Japanese beginner hacks to use when tutoring, because it's so familiar to us Americans, almost everyone understands right away when I put it that way. Although in general, my main rule when learning a language from a different language family than you speak, is to avoid comparing it to others, so you don't fall down a rabbit hole of misunderstanding, the pronunciation is my one exception. ☺️ But ya, that's basically how I get through my lessons, is weird little hacks like these lol especially Kanji 😩 Alllll the hacks for Kanji and stroke order

And then when he realized his body was responding to the captain as a Kaiju, I think he was referring to his body instinctively protecting him from other kaiju. But this just leaves so many more questions!

It left me empty when it finished 😭 But even though it's moot now, for next season, the pronunciation of Daikaiju is die-kai-joo lol though it was fun hearing the different creative ways you guys found to pronounce everything 🤣 Yonju is yoh-n-joo too. Japanese is easier when you think of the entire language being made up of the Mexican vowels. A = ah I = ee E = eh O = oh U = ooh, then Ka Ke Ki Ko Ku, Sa Se Shi So Su, ect. so everything would be pronounced as a set of consonant+vowel (give or take singular vowels here and there like in a-i-shi-te-ru, or ryu-u) Oh! And the ending credits you can watch if you want too. It's just cute picturesque moments of the team but the song is so good

2024-07-18 06:05:19 +0000 UTCEpisode 11: I don't think the Kaiju inside Kafka is fighting a tug of war with him for control. I assume it is there to help kafka. I don't know why it would but it said to kafka "Kill Kaiju". It is basically acting on Kafkas innate desire to kill all the Kaijus. I assume it wouldn't attack humans and only attacks the director because it is wearing the Kaiju weapon.
